CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 @ Green Bay Packers

Once again, Cole Kmet was vultured of a touchdown by another tight end. Last week it was Jimmy Graham, who for some reason has two touchdowns this season. Other tight ends on the Bears have combined for 14 receptions with four touchdowns. Kmet has 40 receptions (second-most on the team) but has been held scoreless all year. It wasn't all bad for Kmet, though. He saw a solid seven targets and finished 3-41. Most tight ends in fantasy are appealing because they have a strong chance to score in the red zone. But Kmet offers low production along with a low percentage of a score. He's outside of our top 15 tight ends for the week.

CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Cole Kmet led the Bears with 11 targets last week, finishing 8-65-0. He surprisingly has still not caught a touchdown this season while other Bears' tight ends do. Last week it was Jimmy Graham who stole Kmet's thunder. That now makes three Bears tight ends this season to catch a touchdown before Kmet. While he didn't score, Kmet's 65 yards were his second-best game of the season. He gets a tough matchup this week, though. The Cardinals have given up the fourth-fewest receiving yards to tight ends, and given up just one score to the position all year. Kmet is outside of our top 15 tight ends for the week.

CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Detroit Lions

Cole Kmet couldn't build on the momentum from Week 9 as he had a letdown game in Week 11. Kmet saw just two targets and caught one pass for 12 yards. It's his fourth game this season with just one reception in what's been a disappointing year for Kmet. He's averaging less than 30 yards per game and hasn't scored a single time. We doubt that changes this week in a tough matchup vs. the Lions, who have only given up two touchdowns to tight ends all season. Kmet is outside of our top 15 tight ends this week, making him a poor choice in Week 12.

CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Cole Kmet had his best game of the year in Week 9 ahead of the Bears' bye, setting season highs in targets (8), receptions (6), and receiving yards (87). Although Kmet still hasn't scored a touchdown all season, a rare feat for a starting tight end. Expect Kmet's numbers to drop this week, as we can't imagine the Bears' passing offense finding the same success this week against a tough Ravens defense. Although Baltimore has been favorable to tight ends this year, giving up the fourth-most receiving yards to the position this year. The Ravens have also given up six touchdowns in nine games to tight ends. Kmet is a decent streaming choice if you're in a bind, but he's still somewhat of a risk given his usual production this year.

CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Cole Kmet didn't do much last week, finishing 3-24-0. He did see six targets, which were the second-most on the team, but the Bears surprisingly got Jesse James involved as the third-string tight end finished 3-38-1. That now makes two backup tight ends (Jesper Horsted being the other) to score a touchdown this season before Kmet. With Kmet averaging 2.8 receptions for 24.6 yards and no touchdowns this season, it's hard to recommend playing him in fantasy. There should be better tight end options available in Week 9.

CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Cole Kmet surprisingly led the Bears in targets last week with six, finishing 5-43. It's not a bad outing for Kmet who has put up back-to-back good performances, relatively speaking. It's a nice uptick in production considering he had three total receptions from Week 2 through Week 4. He could struggle this week though, as he draws a tough matchup against the 49ers who have allowed the second-fewest receiving yards and are ninth in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to tight ends this season. Kmet isn't a strong option though considering he has zero touchdowns on the season. There are plenty of better options at TE in Week 8.

CHI TE Cole Kmet - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Cole Kmet had one of his more productive games this season, finishing 4-49 on five targets, setting a season-high in receiving yards. He also had a carry for no yards. While it's nice to see Kmet trending in the right direction, he still had just five receptions for 39 yards in the four games prior to last week. He does get a favorable matchup this week against the Bucs, but he'll be a tough tight end to trust. He doesn't even offer red zone appeal as he has zero touchdowns on the season. He'd be a desperation TE2 this week.
