HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New Orleans
Receiving, running, throwing… Cecil Shorts was doing it all for the Texans in the win over the Jets last Sunday. He caught two passes for 51 yards, ran four times for 26 yards and also threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Alfred Blue. He came in to the contest with just one career rushing attempt, so don’t expect the ground game to continue to be part of Cecil’s arsenal. The Saints defense has been terrible this season, so consider Shorts a WR3 play this week.

HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New York Jets
Cecil Shorts returned to action last Monday in Cincinnati and caught three passes for 16 yards. Brian Hoyer and T.J. Yates threw in the direction of DeAndre Hopkins 11 times, while Cecil was targeted the second most with seven occasions. Shorts and Nate Washington combined to have as many receptions as Hopkins, who will continue to be the featured WR. Shorts doesn't make for a good fantasy start on Sunday.

HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Cincinnati
Cecil Shorts missed the previous two games before the bye with a hamstring injury, but is expected back for the Monday night affair. Nate Washington has done well in Shorts' absence and will likely continue to see a decent amount of the passes that don't go to DeAndre Hopkins. Cecil should be active on Monday, but is probably better off staying on your bench.

HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Miami
Despite dislocating his shoulder a couple weeks ago, Cecil Shorts was back in action last week against his former team in Jacksonville. DeAndre Hopkins stole the show with nearly 150 yards and two TDs, while Cecil played second fiddle in the passing game with four catches for 63 yards. However, he injured his hamstring and will not play at Miami.

HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Jacksonville
After dislocating his shoulder two weeks ago, Cecil Shorts is recovering quickly and should be on the field against the Jags on Sunday. While fellow WR Nate Washington looks like a long shot to play, Shorts' return would be a welcome site for Brian Hoyer and the Texans, as they went with rookies Keith Mumphery and Jaelen Strong in the loss to the Colts last Thursday. Shorts is off to a decent start, with 22 receptions for 236 yards and one TD. He should be considered a WR3/flex start against a poor Jacksonville secondary.

HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Atlanta
In the win over the Bucs last week, Cecil Shorts received nine looks from Ryan Mallett, resulting in six catches for 58 yards. In his first three games in a Texans uniform, Cecil has 16 catches and is averaging 50 yards per contest. Atlanta has had trouble against the pass so far, but look for Houston to utilize the ground game to try and keep Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense off of the field.

HOU WR Cecil Shorts - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Tampa Bay
At Carolina last Sunday, Cecil Shorts finished with six receptions for 34 yards on a team-high 12 targets from Ryan Mallett. In the first two weeks of the season, DeAndre Hopkins and Nate Washington have put up better WR numbers. The Texans definitely don’t want to throw the ball 58 times versus Tampa Bay this week, so look for another average statistical game from Shorts. Even with all the injuries across the league, he should not be in your starting lineup, even with Hopkins questionable.
