Quarterback Alex Smith, who was removed from Sunday's game after sustaining a second-quarter concussion, is feeling much better Monday, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said.

"(He's) doing much better, had a good night's sleep last night," Harbaugh said. "And symptoms are positive today. He's visiting with a neurologist later this afternoon."

Smith must be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play next Monday night against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Impact:

Reportedly, Smith experienced blurred vision after a successful fourth-and-1 quarterback sneak. Smith remained in the game to complete the drive, which he capped with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree. If Smith can't go, Colin Kaepernick would get the start in a tough matchup against the Bears.
