Veteran Texans receiver Kevin Walter had one catch for 9 yards in preseason. Lestar Jean (eight) and Keshawn Martin (seven) had more receptions.

But don’t expect any changes in the lineup. Walter will be starting opposite Andre Johnson.

“Kevin’s one of the most underrated guys we’ve got,” quarterback Matt Schaub said. “He’s always in the right spot, does everything a thousand miles an hour. He does so much for us in the run game.

“In the pass game, if you put it in a spot, he’s going to go make the play. He’s going to make you look good as a quarterback. I’ve got a ton of confidence in him. … It’s just good to see the young guys step up and play a role, because we needed to see what they were going to do.”

Fantasy Impact:

Walter has had a very quiet preseason but could be a factor in PPR formats. In 2007 and 2008, he had back-to-back seasons of 60+ catches and 800+ yards, getting 106 and 95 targets, respectively. Since then, he hasn't seen more than 80 targets in any given season.
