Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray, a third round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and a rising star on the team, has proven to be a sensational talent in the backfield since the absence injured feature back Felix Jones.

Tuesday morning, Cowboys GM/Owner Jerry Jones joined me on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas where he said Murray reminded him of one specific Hall of Fame running back.

"He kind of has a glide like Dickerson [Eric, 1983-87] for the Rams and SMU,” Jones said. “He has a certain smoothness. He's running with such acceleration and power. He's a 220-25 pound back who runs with more power and impact than his weight."

More importantly, though, Jones addressed the question on most of his critic’s minds: Who will get the starting gig between Murray and Felix Jones, once Jones returns from an ankle injury?

"It's not pertinent [at this time],” he said, adding, "I don't know of anyone that knows what a running back looks like anymore so than [former OU coach] Barry Switzer. Barry gave us good information regarding [former OU running back] Murray.”

Fantasy Impact:

"It's not pertinent." Thanks a lot, Jerry.
