San Francisco running back Frank Gore might be averaging a measly 2.5 yards per carry through the first two games of the season but he will still be a main focus of the Bengals Sunday when they host the 49ers at Paul Brown Stadium.

“Frank is the offense,” said cornerback Nate Clements, who played the last four seasons with the 49ers before signing with the Bengals. “He’s a complete running back.”

The Bengals held Cleveland’s Peyton Hillis to 57 yards in their Week 1 victory but Denver’s Willis McGahee rushed for 101 yards on 28 carries last Sunday in a 24-22 Broncos’ win.

“We have to stop the run, period,” said defensive end Jonathan Fanene. “We need to stop the run and that starts from the front four, the d-line. Everybody needs to do their job, get off blocks and make plays. It all comes down to discipline.”
