Patriots RB Fred Taylor returns to practice

With the appearances Fred Taylor has made in the locker room, you had to figure this day was coming. And it did.

Taylor, the Patriots veteran running back, practiced today for the first time since early October. Pretty huge news. That’s him to the left, from our photog John Wilcox.

Taylor tore ankle ligaments way back then and hasn’t played since the Ravens game. Yet he wasn’t put on Injured Reserve, as the team held out hope he would play in December.

Will he play Sunday? Probably not.Usually, if guys return to practice, they are ready to play the following week… or even the week after that, as was the case for Matt Light and Sammy Morris.

But if you get Taylor for the last four games, that’s a good deal. Even with Laurence Maroney improving, Taylor is needed.
