Packers coach wants to "even up" touches in the backfield

Asked Matt LaFleur about Packers running back Aaron Jones’ touches over the long haul of a season following Sunday’s career-high 23 carries. He said keeping Jones fresh is important, and he wants to “even up” touches between Jones and Jamaal Williams. Thinks balance will change week to week.

How much of this is coachspeak versus actual on-field usage is yet to be known, but it's still not great news for Aaron Jones to reach his upside. Jones is better than Jamaal Williams and that should keep him ahead in work each week, but if Matt LeFleur really wants to keep him fresh, Williams will at least get a chance for more work.
