Notebook: Grant proclaims hamstring a 'non-issue'

The Packers are feeling pretty good about their running game with a healthy Ryan Grant.
Last year at this time, Grant had a strained hamstring that sidelined him for the entire exhibition season, and despite the time off the injury lingered all year and was a factor in his average per carry plummeting from 5.1 yards in 2007 to 3.9 yards in ’08.

Though Grant weighs the same 225 pounds he was last year, he looks a little more chiseled as he nears the end of the third week of camp. He’s made it through almost three full weeks without any obvious physical problems and hasn’t missed a practice.

“He’s had a tremendous offseason workout program,” said Edgar Bennett, the Packers’ running backs coach. “He’s strong, he’s healthy. He’s off to a good start.”
