Greg Jennings still trying to play on Thursday

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings is listed as doubtful with a groin injury for Thursday Night Football. But Jennings is in a contract year, and he hasn’t finished the last three games he’s played. According to ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, Jennings is still trying to play against the Bears.

“Jennings is listed as doubtful … but he does wanna play,” Nichols reported on SportsCenter Thursday morning. “And while coaches held him out of practice yesterday, the staff did test him, running him through some drills. They were trying to see not only whether he could complete the drills, but also to just get a sense of his endurance throughout the drills. Then they’ll bring him in today, sort of measure his progress.”

Fantasy Impact:

At this point we are not expecting Jennings to play, but his owners should watch the inactives tonight before benching him for a much lesser option. James Jones and Randall Cobb look like decent starts even if Jennings tries to give it a go. It's not often that a player who is listed as “doubtful” actually plays, although Jason Witten famously did it last Wednesday.
