The Dallas Cowboys' season has been a mess in general, but they have no plans to shut down Dez Bryant for the rest of the season, despite their 4-9 record.
"We'll go balls out with Dez," owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.
Bryant missed five games recovering from a broken foot suffered in the season opener and has played through knee and ankle injuries since Nov. 8. In eight games, he has caught 27 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns.
Jones puts Bryant's lack of success this season on missing the offseason program with a contract dispute and missing half of the training camp practices and the four preseason games with a hamstring injury.
"I'm not so sure the foot is an issue apart from the fact that it limited him very early in the season and training camp, and of course the way [we] were involved in negotiations during the spring," Jones said. "In my mind, it is completely related to lack of practice, repetition.
Bryant caught one pass for 9 yards in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. He dropped two passes and had another pass deflect off his hands for an interception on the Cowboys' first drive of the game. The QB situation isn't helping Bryant owners either as the whole Dallas offense has struggled without Tony Romo.
