Bears cut CB Hood after one week

The Bears cut veteran CB Rod Hood, who had signed with the team earlier this week, and 15 other players to finalize their 53-man roster.

Hood played in Chicago’s preseason finale, but the team opted to go with younger cornerbacks over the six-year pro.

Other notable cuts include WR Brandon Rideau, QB Brett Basanez and LB Marcus Freeman.

The Bears also removed CB Charles Tillman from the physically unable to perform list and placed him on the active roster. Backup RB Kevin Jones also was placed on injured reserve after hurting his ankle in the preseason finale.
