Officially, the Bears list top receiver Alshon Jeffery as questionable for their game against the Packers and don’t plan to update that status until Sunday morning.
Still, all indications are Jeffery will try to give it a go when the season opens at Soldier Field.
After practicing on a limited basis for three consecutive days, Jeffery has had no significant setbacks with the calf injury that kept him out for four weeks in August and early September.
Coach John Fox said he wants to keep an eye on Jeffery’s health through Saturday’s walk-through, which under this staff serves more as a light practice.
Jeffery “looked pretty good at what he did” in practice, per HC John Fox. It now appears that he’s on track to play Week 1. After the Kevin White situation, the Bears are not to be trusted when it comes to injury information. If it’s a game-time decision, the Bears play early on Sunday, so that helps. Hopefully we'll get more clarity on Saturday.
