Matthew Stafford is running the first team offense in the first padded team period today, so another great sign for that thumb.
Great news. The Rams got a scare yesterday when Stafford hit his throwing thumb against a helmet. The indication was Stafford would be OK, but no one would have been surprised if he sat out a day and played it safe. That isn't the case and he's back at it today.
What isn’t as clear is who will back up Henderson.
The Rams have Xavier Jones, Jake Funk, Raymond Calais and Otis Anderson on the 90-man roster right now, but they’ve combined to play zero offensive snaps in their NFL careers. So needless to say, there isn’t much experience at running back behind Henderson.
The story said Jones is the favorite to back him up after sticking with the Rams last season as an undrafted rookie. He’s getting more work in camp this year due to Akers’ absence and though it’s early, Sean McVay is encouraged by what he’s seen from Jones, as well as the Rams’ other backup running backs.
Cooper said he has been 225 the past three seasons. Cooper’s goal is to have best season of his football career. Not just words, he said. Actions been intentional, the tweet all said. For fantasy purposes, he may be trying to hold off CeeDee Lamb, who is getting drafted ahead of Cooper in some leagues.
