Andre Ellington (PCL) to miss 2 or 3 weeks

The Cardinals went to bed last night hopeful they avoided the worst with running back Andre Ellington.

But they’ll at least be without him for a few weeks.

According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, the Cardinals running back was diagnosed with a grade one posterior collateral ligament sprain in his right knee, and is expected to miss two or three weeks.

It’s the latest in a series of injuries for the Cardinals starter, who dealt with foot and core muscles last year.

Fantasy Impact:

That leaves the Cardinals in the hands of veteran Chris Johnson and rookie David Johnson in the backfield, and both showed flashes Sunday. David had a 55-yard touchdown catch-and-run which clinched their win over the Saints. HC Bruce Arians said in reports earlier they are prepared to let Chris Johnson lead the way running the ball. David Johnson's TD was his only touch, but he should get a few more in Week 2.
