Greer probable; Thomas, Moore out

After sitting out the last seven games with a sports hernia, it appears Saints starting left cornerback Jabari Greer will finally return to the playing field.

Greer, who had surgery to repair his injury on Dec. 8, has practiced the last two weeks on a limited basis and he is listed as probable for Sunday's game at Carolina, a good sign that he'll be in the lineup.

While Greer is likely to play, three of his teammates have been officially ruled out of the game. Tailback Pierre Thomas (ribs), receiver Lance Moore (ankle), safety Usama Young (sports hernia) will not play.

Five players are listed as questionable: defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis (knee) tight end Jeremy Shockey (toe), defensive end Bobby McCray (back), linebacker Jonathan Vilma (knee) and safety Darren Sharper (knee). Vilma and McCray did not practice on Friday.

Six players besides Greer are listed as probable: tight end Darnell Dinkins (foot), long snapper Jason Kyle (back), guard Jahri Evans (foot), offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod (wrist), tailback Lynell Hamilton (shoulder) and cornerback Randall Gay (concussion).

And two are listed as doubtful: linebacker Scott Shanle (concussion) and tight end David Thomas (calf). Shanle was limited in practice and Thomas sat out of drills.
