Week 6 Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts & Sleepers
All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough, a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It’s not pretty, but it’s part of the game.
Since Week 4, we’ve been using 2026 data only for our signature strength-of-schedule metric, adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA). The higher, the better the matchup.
Quarterbacks
Jordan Love, Packers (vs. DAL, 27)
Jordan Love is on fire. He threw for 367 yards and two touchdowns on just 31 attempts against the Bears last week, and he has now thrown exactly two touchdown passes in all five games while averaging 282 passing yards per game. The Cowboys have allowed an average of 232 passing yards, 2.0 passing touchdowns, and 42 rushing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, and they have yet to intercept a pass. Love also torched Dallas for 337 yards and three touchdowns last season. He’s a solid QB1 at home this week.
Tyler Shough, Saints (vs. NYG, 22)
Tyler Shough had a nightmare game against the Vikings last week, throwing for only 96 yards with two interceptions. That was his first real dud of a promising sophomore season. Through the first three weeks, he averaged 306 passing yards and 2.7 touchdowns per game, and he added a rushing score at Baltimore in Week 2. The Giants have allowed an average of 210 passing yards and 1.8 passing touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks, plus 27 rushing yards and 0.4 rushing touchdowns. This is a great bounceback spot at home.
