Picking eighth in the first round of your fantasy football draft isn’t as deflating in a 10-team league as it is in a 12-team format. When your pick comes back around in the second round, there are still some great options on the board. With two top-13 players on your squad, it makes for an excellent base to build around.
In this article, I will walk you through the ideal players to draft out of this position for every single round of the draft, using ESPN ADP to guide the available candidates.

My Plan of Attack When Drafting 8th in a 10-Team ESPN PPR League
Roster Settings: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 DEF, 6 bench spots
- We’re in PPR format, so I want to draft wide receivers early and often. I’m comfortable waiting on a quarterback and tight end, because I’m likely going to need to attack the running back position with quantity in the middle rounds. Given that the waiver wire will likely have viable options for much of the season in this shallow format, I’ll likely take some big swings on players with upside in the later rounds.
