Week 3 Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts & Sleepers

All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

Quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins, Vikings (vs. DET, 26)

Cousins had a great Week 1 (227/2) against the Packers then predictably laid a turd (221 with three interceptions) in primetime against the Eagles. His numbers are typically better at home, and his matchup against the Lions is fantastic. The Detroit defense has yielded an average of 26.3 points per game to Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz through two weeks.

Jared Goff, Lions (@ MIN, 24)

Goff was relatively solid against the Eagles (215/2) before excelling against the Commanders (256/4) in Week 2. This game against the Vikings could turn into a shootout if the Lions' offensive line can protect Goff.
