Today’s NBA Player Prop Bets (February 8, 2023)

Domantas Sabonis Over 7.5 Assists (+110 at DraftKings)

Domantas Sabonis has been one of the best passing bigs this season but his inconsistent assist totals lately have dropped this prop to an area too good to ignore, especially considering the matchup.

Sabonis has gone over this number only once in the last seven games but the matchups in the six he didn't hit the over make sense. Sabonis does not have a lot of length and relies on being able to bully and burrow his way to his spots, so bigs who have length and size give him issues. Two games against Rudy Gobert, one against Myles Turner, one against the Raptors' swarming defense, a blowout versus New Orleans where Sabonis did not even play 30 minutes, and a game against the Spurs where he scored 34 were the culprits. Those have driven down this prop line. It was at 8.5 for while, and now it's down to plus-money on 7.5.

The matchup today against the Rockets is much better suited for Sabonis and it has shown. Alperen Sengun is a very skilled center but undersized and not a good defender. In three games against the Rockets this season, Sabonis is averaging 11.7 assists on 18.3 potential assists. Sacramento has scored at least 135 points in every game against Houston this season. The Rockets are the 27th-ranked defense over the last two weeks. Without a lot of resistance and considering how much of a focal point of the offense Sabonis is, next to De’Aaron Fox, there is plenty of reason to believe Sabonis will be in a position to hit this over.

Risk: 1 unit on DraftKings to win 1.1 units. (Playable to -110)
