Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 13 Targets

Efficiency is king of our streaming quarterback kingdom, but once in a while, the lowly subject known simply as volume ascends to streaming royalty.

We saw this in Week 13 when Zach Mettenbeger, highlighted in this space as a volume play against a Philadelphia defense that had seen the second most weekly pass attempts, racked up 20.7 fantasy points and finished the week as a top-7 option.

Mettenberger, it should be noted, didn't need 50 throws to notch those QB1 numbers. He posted a very respectable 0.53 fantasy points per pass attempt (FPAT) on 39 tosses. That offers hope that the Tennessee rookie can be much more than a matchup play against the NFL's most sieve-like secondaries.

Our Week 12 streaming plays combined for an average of 17.9 fantasy points, brining our season-long average to 17.1 points per game, or QB8 numbers. Optimal streamers are posting 21.1 fantasy points per week -- a QB3 pace.

Tools like 4for4's schedule-adjusted fantasy points and FPAT only get better as the season wears on. I think we've seen that come to fruition in recent weeks, as those who have followed the advice of my neck tattoo and trusted matchups have done quite well.

Let's get into Week 13 streaming options, targeting quarterbacks available in at least 40 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Mark Sanchez (PHI) at Dallas Cowboys

Sanchez is showing disturbing flashes of his former Gang Green self, though it's worth noting that he's cracked the 300-yard mark in each of his three games as Chip Kelly's starting signal caller.

Sanchez, available in 49 percent of Yahoo leagues, has thrown four picks in his three games as an Eagle. Thanks to five touchdown tosses, he's fantasy's eighth highest scoring quarterback over that span.

4for4's Law of Averages report shows that Philly's offense against the Cowboys' so-so secondary could produce 276 yards and 1.7 touchdowns. I don't think that's unreasonable against a Dallas team giving up a sky-high 66.4 percent completion rate and a hefty 11.1 yards per pass completion.

Vegas projects the Dallas-Philly tilt to be the week's second highest-scoring game. I think Sanchez has a tremendous fantasy floor in this one -- a rare luxury for us streamers.
