SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Vikings

Sure, Lockett only caught two passes for 39 yards against the Dolphins. That number is likely going to be an outlier this season for Lockett. The Seahawks are home in primetime against one of the worst defenses so far this season. It's a perfect chance for a rebound game for Lockett. He's our No. 5 WR for this week.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Dolphins

Tyler Lockett is simply the man. A hat trick for the young stud in Week 3 against the Cowboys and a 9-100-3 line (13 targets) on Sunday. Miami's defense has been pretty solid up to this point but as long as Seattle is playing in shootouts the way they have been, Lockett is going to continue to be a stud and that's why he has moved up into the top five fantasy receivers this week.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Cowboys

Lockett is just so trustworthy. If the first two games are any indication, Lockett is going to catch just about everything thrown his way. He has seen 16 targets. He has caught 15 of them. His 15 catches are currently tied for 7th in the league through two games. Lockett is our No. 9 WR. He's always a great play.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Patriots

If there was one advantage Lockett had over DK Metcalf in Week 1, he doubled Metcalf in terms of catches (8-4). Both were targeted eight times and Lockett had just three fewer yards than Metcalf. We still have Lockett slightly ahead of Metcalf this week as WR16 so both are just fine as a WR2 in your lineups. It will be very interesting to see how the Patriots match up Stephon Gilmore with the Seahawks' receivers.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

It's kind of funny how Tyler Lockett continues to fly under the radar for some people despite two straight top-15 PPR finishes. He's looking for another 1,000-yard season and he starts it against one of the teams he posted 100 yards against in 2019, catching six passes in that game. That was the first of back-to-back 100-yard games Lockett had in Weeks 8 and 9 (13-152-2 against Tampa Bay). Lockett is flirting with WR1 status in fantasy and will enjoy another fine season in Seattle.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - 2020 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Lockett has become one of the best route-runners in the NFL and can make catches from just about any spot on the field. It's no surprise Russell Wilson trusts him enough to target him 110 times during last season (hauling in 82 receptions). He had ten games of at least five targets, including a whopping 18 in Week 9 against the Buccaneers. And all of this was done as rookie DK Metcalf began bursting onto the scene. No reason to believe Lockett is going to slow down anytime soon.

Fantasy Downside

Lockett dealt with a leg injury in 2019 that he had to be hospitalized for. But even with that, Lockett did not miss any games in 2019 as the injury happened to fall on Seattle's bye week. Other than that, the only other piece that could eat into Lockett's targets is the arrival of Greg Olsen, whom Russell Wilson could develop a nice rapport with.

2020 Bottom Line

Lockett has become a consistent threat in Seattle and makes for a fine option, even as a possible first receiver taken if you decide to load up on running backs or quarterbacks or even a tight end in the first three rounds of your draft. Lockett isn't going anywhere. Even with Olsen now in the mix and a full year of Metcalf, Lockett is still a trustworthy receiver, especially with him being drafted almost outside the top 20 receivers.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs San Francisco
Tyler Lockett was held to one catch for 12 yards last Sunday. It followed up one of his best games of the season and many thought he was back in form. Then he is irrelevant against last week. He has been tough to figure out in 2019.

Lockett will face the Niners who are 15th in aFPA to wide receivers. In the first meeting against San Fran, he was held to three catches for 26 yards on the day. Although Lockett will be a contributor, we have to think it will be minimal. Start him as a low-end WR2 for Week 17.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Arizona
Tyler Lockett finally broke out of his slump with eight receptions for 120 yards. He had eight total catches in the previous four games. Lockett seems to be healthy and will be needed down the stretch for Seattle.

Lockett faces the Cardinals who are 17th in aFPA to wide receivers. We expect Lockett to be back as the primary receiver the rest of the way so that will be reflected with his fantasy number.

Start Lockett as a solid WR1 for Week 16. It has been a while since we could count on him but with the matchup and last week's performance, he should be a major contributor.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Carolina
They need to put an APB out on Tyler Lockett. The "No. 1" Seahawks receiver has only eight receptions over the last four games and hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 9. He has had some health issues, but is still puzzling as to why he has not been more productive.

Carolina is their next opponent and the Panthers are ranked 27th in aFPA to wide receivers. Even with a good matchup, QB Russell Wilson has been spreading the ball around more in recent weeks so we only like Lockett as a WR3 for Week 15.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Minnesota
Tyler Lockett was very quiet on Sunday with only one catch for 38 yards. It was the lowest receptions in a game since Week 1. Don't worry too much though as Lockett should still be very much involved within the Seattle offense.

Lockett faces the Vikings who are 30th in aFPA to wide receivers. The good matchup should help him get back on track. Expect big numbers and a bounce-back game for Lockett. Start him as low-end WR1 for Week 13.
