SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at San Francisco 49ers

Tyler Lockett caught 4 passes for 37 yards last week, but was more effective on special teams, which doesn't help most fantasy owners. He still has 0 touchdowns on the season, but remains a viable part of the Seahawks' passing game.

Lockett will face the Niners this week, who are ranked 11th in aFPA to wide receivers. He did have 6 catches for 64 yards in their first meeting this season, but Lockett should not be in your starting lineup on the road for Week 12.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Tyler Lockett only received 2 targets last week after a combined 16 the previous two weeks. It seems both him and Paul Richardson are capable of having big games at any time, but then they can disappear in the Seahawks' offense as well.

Next up for Seattle is Atlanta, who is ranked ninth in aFPA to wide receivers. A tough matchup and inconsistency are enough reasons to keep Lockett on your bench for Week 11.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Arizona Cardinals

Tyler Lockett was targeted 7 times last week, but it only produced 2 receptions for 10 yards. Lockett and fellow receiver Paul Richardson have alternated as the No. 2 receiver so it has been hard to predict who will be the guy each week.

The Seahawks have a good matchup in the passing game this week as they face an Arizona defense ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. Richarson is nursing a groin injury and if he doesn't play, Lockett should be a low-end WR3 or flex. Otherwise, keep him on the bench.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Washington

Tyler Lockett exploded last Sunday with 6 receptions for 121 yards. It was the third time in his career Lockett eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark so it doesn't happen often. It was still good to see someone who ranks as a WR3 on various weeks have that type of game.

He has a tough matchup for Week 9 against Washington, who is ranked second in aFPA to wide receivers. Lockett will have to have more performances like that to become a regular in the starting lineup, but we saw enough last week to start him this week as a high-end WR3 or flex.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Houston Texans

Tyler Lockett was targeted 7 times last week, the most since Week 2. It has been a rough season as the numbers have been low and he has not scored a touchdown. After No. 1 receiver Doug Baldwin, Lockett seems to be alternating with Paul Richardson as the next target.

Lockett does have a decent matchup against the Texans this week, who are ranked 21st in aFPA to wide receivers. But that isn't enough to start him in Week 8. He is just on the outside looking in, unless you have major injuries at WR or need a bye week replacement.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Giants

Tyler Lockett has not been a strong fantasy option this season, averaging just over 3 catches per game. He doesn't have a touchdown and has caught 5+ catches in a game only once this season. With a tough matchup against the Giants, Lockett doesn't rate high enough to be put in your starting lineup for Week 7. Keep him on the bench.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Los Angeles Rams

Tyler Lockett was the most targeted wide receiver last week in Seattle with five, but it seems QB Russell Wilson is spreading the ball around more instead of relying on Doug Baldwin as he has the past two season. This should benefit Lockett who is a good player to have on your bench now.

Lockett has a good matchup against the Rams who are 24th in aFPA to wide receivers, but the numbers haven't been good enough to start him in your lineup. Keep Lockett on your bench for Week 5.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Despite the Seattle passing game breaking out in Week 3, Tyler Lockett was quiet with only 3 targets and 2 receptions. Lockett did get snaps last week because Doug Baldwin missed time with an injury. While Baldwin is expected to play, Lockett could move up the rankings if the Seahawks' No. 1 wide receiver isn't 100%.

For now, Lockett should remain on your bench against Indianapolis, but if Baldwin has to sit out Sunday, Lockett could be a WR3 or flex option play.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Tennessee Titans

Tyler Lockett received as many targets (9) as Doug Baldwin did last week against the Niners so maybe we are seeing a shift to a more balanced receiving corp. The overall numbers in the passing game have been down the first two weeks for Seattle so that's another issue.

Lockett has a good matchup against a Tennessee pass defense that struggled this season. Even with that, we need to see more from Lockett to consider him as a fantasy starter this week. Keep him on the bench as depth for Week 3.

SEA WR Tyler Lockett - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Tyler Lockett had a very good second half of the season, averaging 12.9 PPG (PPR) from Week 10 through 15 before he broke his leg. He has recovered so now he has a chance to solidify his role as the No. 2 receiver behind Doug Baldwin, which could mean an increase in his overall numbers entering his third season.

Fantasy Downside

Paul Richardson and Jermaine Kearse will also be vying for those snaps and targets. Lockett is not a runaway second receiver for the Seahawks and there is also the fact Jimmy Graham has finally become a comfortable weapon for QB Russell Wilson. Despite big-play capability, Lockett only had one touchdown in 2016, after scoring four his rookie season.

2017 Bottom Line

Lockett has an ADP of 149, and although he is still the second Seattle WR off the board, he only ranks as our WR53. There are too many other options for the 'Hawks to think Lockett will increase his numbers. If you do select him, he should be your fourth or fifth receiver, and provide you with decent production some, especially in PPR leagues, but not on a consistent basis.
