Week 13 at Green Bay
Gronk put up a 5-78 line in Week 12. Fantasy owners take solace in the fact that such a solid line feels like a disappointment, and can be viewed as his floor. In Week 13, we rank Gronk as the #1 TE once again, as he is just about every week he's healthy.
Week 12 vs Detroit
Gronk "Gronk'ed" again in Week 11, putting up a solid 4-71-1 line on only five targets. Despite an unfavorable game script, Gronk always seems to find a way to reward his owners. Gronk is once again our top TE play of the weekend, as he likely will continue to be every single weekend he's healthy. There aren't many more exciting players to have in your lineup.
Week 5 at IND
Gronk put up another monstrous stat line in Week 9, prior to his bye, going off for 9-109-1. He's playing a full compliment of snaps, and should be started week in and week out with glee.
When healthy and on the field, Gronk is a permanent top three TE play every week. Facing a top 5 TE matchup via aFPA, we confidently have him as our top TE this weekend.
Week 9 vs Denver
Gronk is back. He had a game for the ages last week, with a monstrous stat line of 9-149-3. He left the game early, as all his efforts left him a little dehydrated. He probably could have re-entered the game after receiving some treatment, but was not needed anymore in this rout of a game. Despite the slow start to his season, Gronk is now the highest scoring TE in fantasy football.
Gronk is once again healthy and faces a top 10 aFPA matchup for TEs this weekend. He's fairly obviously our top TE play.
Week 8 vs CHI
In Week 7 Gronk put up a respectable 5-68 line. It was Gronk's sixth double digit outing in PPR, in only seven games. Gronk owners enjoy these high floor games, as he continues to put up 10+ fantasy points even while not "blowing up."
In the most promising news of all for Gronk owners, he played 93% of snaps and appears to be returning to his old self. Barring any setback, Gronk should continue to play a full compliment of snaps moving forward, indicating this his best fantasy days are yet to come.
With his increased health and plus matchup against the Bears, start Gronk with even more confidence than you have been. We once again rank him as our TE2 this week.
Week 7 vs New York Jets
Gronk played 79% of snaps last week, for the second straight week in a row, making his health as encouraging as his performance. He put up a huge 7-94 line last week, and has a massive 13-194-1 line over the last two weeks. With a top 7 aFPA matchup this weekend, owners should confidently and excitedly keep Gronk in their lineup.
Week 6 at Buffalo
In a very promising day for fantasy owners, Gronk played 79% of the snaps in Week 5. Oh yeah, he had a nice 6-100-1 line as well. Owners may also have appreciated that. With his snap count rising every week, it seems Gronk's best days are not only ahead of him, but coming sooner rather than later. Faithful owners are about to be rewarded, and any window to buy low on him is quickly closing.
We rank him as TE2 and TE4 in PPR this week, and have bumped him up to our TE2 in our ROS ranks.
Week 5 at Cincinnati
Gronk once again saved his fantasy day with a touchdown. He leads the team with 3 TDs. On the season he has a 13-147-3 line, and only added 2-31 in Week 4, touchdown aside. It is encouraging, though, that Gronk played a season high 62% of snaps, even in a blowout. His arrow continues to point up, and he continues to reward owners with steady production while they wait for the huge games. We once again rank him as the #3 tight end this week.
Week 4 at Kansas City
Gronk's snap count spiked up last week, playing more than 50% of the snaps for the first time this season. Despite playing on less than half the snaps to date, Gronk has a nice 11-116-2 line on the season. As his snaps continue to rise, fantasy owners should be encouraged, and continue to start Gronk with full confidence.
While KC is a tough matchup for TEs per aFPA, Gronk is still our TE2 and TE4 in PPR this week.
Week 3 vs Oakland
Gronk played even fewer snaps in Week 2 than he did in Week 1. As the Patriots offense wasn't really needed in the second half last week, I'm not reading too much into that. Even on limited snap counts, Gronk leads the Patriots WRs in targets. He's clearly (and rightfully) Tom Brady's favorite player to throw to.
When the snap counts increase, look out. You're still starting him every week in the meantime, though. For the third consecutive week, we rank Gronk as TE3 in both scoring formats. If he suits up, Gronk should never be on your bench.
