Week 11 at New Orleans Saints
The Eagles are riding the struggle bus lately, but a stop at Superdome station is always a good place to cure what ails in fantasy. A suspected shootout Sunday has the Eagles with an implied team total of more than 23 points, despite being eight-point underdogs. Plus, the Saints are a pass funnel defense, ranking fourth in aFPA to RBs but dead-last in aFPA to WRs. Marshon Lattimore should be covering Alshon Jeffery this week, freeing up Nelson Agholor and Golden Tate in better match-ups against P.J. Williams and Eli Apple, respectively. Agholor could be worth dart throw FLEX consideration in a heavy bye week, but we want to see more consistent usage from Tate on his new team before rolling him back into lineups.
Week 10 at Oakland Raiders
The Eagles have an implied team total of 25.25 points this week -respectable, but not elite. Philadelphia is a touchdown favorite at home, which should lead to positive game script. With the Eagles adding Golden Tate into the mix this week, it's hard to predict what impact Tate will have. We suspect he will take Nelson Agholor's role in the slot. And that means Agholor is no longer a fantasy factor.
Week 8 at Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
The Eagles go across the pond to take on the Jaguars in their second home with an implied team total of just 23.5 points with the second-lowest over/under of Week 8 for this game. The Jaguars are top five in aFPA to WRs. For these reasons, Nelson Agholor's week-to-week fantasy inconsistencies since Alshon Jeffery returned should continue.
Week 7 vs. Carolina Panthers
Here are Alshon Jeffery's targets each game since returning from injury: nine, eight, 12. Meanwhile, Nelson Agholor has only had four and five targets over the past two games. That's not enough to rely on moving forward. Agholor was a reliable option before Alshon Jeffery returned this season, but things are very different now.
Week 6 at New York Giants (Thursday)
Going on the road for Thursday Night Football is always a tough ask. Facing the Giants, who rank 4th in aFPA to WRs doesn't make it any easier. The game having the fifth lowest over/under in Vegas this week isn't promising. The situation for Nelson Agholor has also changed since the start of the year. Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffery are Carson Wentz's primary targets. That hasn't left much for Agholor. He's a touchdown-or-bust risk in Week 6, and one where you should choose a more reliable WR from your roster to start, if available.
Week 5 vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Eagles have an average implied team total this week, and Alshon Jeffery is likely to see CB Xavier Rhodes in coverage. If Jeffery struggles, Agholor would be the beneficiary of targets. Jeffery has held his own though against the defense over the past three years. 12 targets last week were promising for Agholor, but he's failed to reach 30 yards in consecutive games. We have to downgrade him to a risky FLEX play at this point. Agholor only had 3-59-0 in the NFC Championship game against Minnesota.
Week 4 at Tennessee Titans
Carson Wentz's return meant a concerning drop in targets for Nelson Agholor. Double-digits the first two weeks down to five last week. That's very concerning, especially since Alshon Jeffery was still out. The Titans rank 13th in aFPA to WRs and this game has the third-lowest total on the Week 4 slate, indicating a likely low-scoring affair. Agholor should be considered a flex/low-end WR2 in Week 4.
Week 3 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Philadelphia has an attractive 27-point implied team total this week. The Colts are just seventh in PPR points allowed to WRs this season, but look closer. That ranking comes from facing a Washington team last week that does not feature its wide receivers. In Week 1, the Colts allowed two touchdowns to wideouts. With Alshon Jeffery still on the shelf and now Mike Wallace on IR, Agholor should get a ton of targets. Agholor is a solid WR2 in Week 3, with WR1 upside.
Week 2 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Agholor was extremely inefficient with his receptions last week, but that may have been a product of playing with a backup quarterback against a solid Falcons defense. This week, Agholor gets a Tampa Bay defense that was just 31st in aFPA to WRs last year. He should again vie with tight end Zach Ertz to again lead the Eagles in targets and receptions with Alshon Jeffery still out. Consider him a WR2 in a plus matchup in Week 2.
Week 1 vs. Atlanta Falcons (Thursday)
No Alshon Jeffery for Week 1 Thursday night should mean increased targets for Agholor, who opens the season as the likely second fantasy option in the Eagles pass attack, behind tight end Zach Ertz. Agholor only saw three targets in the NFC divisional playoff game last year against Atlanta, but he should get more than that Thursday night, especially if the Eagles fall behind, as Vegas essentially has this as a coin-flip game. Consider Agholor a potential FLEX/WR3 for Thursday night.
