MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Chicago
Jerick McKinnon finished with 85 total yards last week, and remains relevant in fantasy again as Adrian Peterson's return was short-lived. McKinnon has been pretty solid in PPR formats as he's finished with 5+ receptions in four straight games.

He'll get a decent matchup this week against the Bears, and should have a larger workload than most backs in Week 17. His downfall is when it comes to scoring touchdowns because Matt Asiata always vultures him, but he'll be a solid RB2 in standard with a bump in PPR formats.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Green Bay
Jerick McKinnon was highly ineffective as a rusher last week, but he played a big role as a receiver. He caught nine passes for 59 yards, meaning he was only really useful in PPR formats.

We don't expect him to have quite as many receptions moving forward, but perhaps he'll continue on as a receiving threat with Adrian Peterson back in the lineup. McKinnon will be a risky, low-end RB3 play in PPR formats.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Indianapolis
Jerick McKinnon hasn't been playing very well, but he's had three straight double-digit games in PPR formats. The biggest drawback to McKinnon (aside from the fact he's not a very good football player) is when the team gets to the goal-line, they give the ball to Matt Asiata to score.

McKinnon does get a decent matchup this week against the Colts. Indianapolis allowed a big day on the ground to Lamar Miller and the Texans last week, but McKinnon should only be viewed as a flex play in standard and a low-end RB2 in PPR.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 14, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Jacksonville
Jerick McKinnon scored a rare touchdown last week (via pass), his first of the season. He wasn't amazing, but he was fantasy relevant, going for 55 yards with five receptions and a score.

He'll get a decent matchup this week against the Jaguars, but he hasn't had a lot of production lately. He'll be a low-end RB3 based on the projected touches he'll get, but don't be surprised if he disappoints you.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Dallas
Jerick McKinnon's main contribution last week came on a 41-yard catch and run. Outside of that play, he had just 35 yards 12 touches. He also finished the game without a touchdown, and he still has just one score on the season.

McKinnon is the lead back in Minnesota, but he's been pretty awful with the ball in his hands. He's averaging three yards per carry, and isn't a major factor in the passing game. He doesn't get a good matchup this week, and will be a low-end RB3 play simply because he'll get enough touches to have some sort of production.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Detroit
Jerick McKinnon apparently has the starting job back now. After seeing limited touches in recent games, McKinnon ran the ball 16 times in Week 11 and the team released Ronnie Hillman, clearing up some touches.

But even though he's getting touches, McKinnon has been pretty bad this season. He's averaging less than three yards per carry, and has scored just one touchdown in nine games.

He gets a decent matchup this week, but he's not much more than an RB3 or flex play in Week 12 against the Lions.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Arizona
Jerick McKinnon finished with the second-most touches in Minnesota's backfield last week, including three receptions on four targets. It appears Matt Asiata will get most of the carries on the ground, while McKinnon serves as a poor receiving back.

Overall, he's simply not getting enough love to warrant a start in fantasy. This week makes it even more difficult to like him due to the brutal matchup against Arizona.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Washington
Jerick McKinnon was a promising pick up at one point this season, but now he appears to be third in the pecking order behind Matt Asiata and Ronnie Hillman. McKinnon has been awful this season, including an eight-yard effort on seven carries last week.

McKinnon should be off the fantasy radar at this point.

MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Detroit
Jerick McKinnon sat out last week with injury, and is expected to return against Detroit. However, McKinnon's recent games don't inspire a ton of confidence in his ability to put up big numbers. He's been sharing the backfield with Matt Asiata, and it's led to low production.

McKinnon is a decent flex start as he'll get a decent matchup against the Lions. Detroit's been allowing an average of a little over 110 yards per game, so there will be opportunity for McKinnon.

Friday, November 4, 2016 - 11:26am
MIN RB Jerick McKinnon - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. San Diego
Jerick McKinnon was awful the last the Vikings played, finishing with 36 yards on 20 carries. His poor play opened the door for Matt Asiata, who saw a season-high 14 carries. McKinnon will likely remain the starter, but expect a closer split between him and Asiata from here on out.

He'll get a decent matchup against the Eagles this week. Philadelphia had been pretty stout against rushers up until they played Washington in Week 6.

We project McKinnon to be a RB2 option this week.
