Week 15 at New York Jets
It's not hard to imagine Jay Ajayi getting 30+ touches Saturday against the Jets with the Dolphins starting QB Matt Moore. The expected volume alone puts Ajayi in the top-10 for Week 15 among RBs, after already posting 130 total yards and a touchdown against the Jets earlier this season.
Week 14 vs. Arizona
Jay Ajayi continues to impress. Last week, the Dolphins had to abandon the run down 24-0 at halftime at Baltimore, but Ajayi still rushed for more than five yards per carry against the NFL's top run defense, despite Miami missing its starting center. He's right there with Mark Ingram for the NFL lead in yards per carry. This week at home against the Cardinals, consider Ajayi a high-end RB2 with RB1 upside in Miami's run frst offense.
Week 13 at Baltimore
Ajayi's ceiling is tied to a healthy Dolphins offensive line. Some pieces will likely be missing again from that unit in Week 13 in an already difficult match-up against the Ravens. Consider him an RB2 this week, likely needing a touchdown to stabilize his floor.
Week 12 vs. San Francisco
Ajayi should feast on the 49ers. He's a top-five option and could definitely finish as the #1 RB in Week 12, against a 49ers run defense that is dead last in the league. On Thanksgiving week, enjoy multiple helpings of this year's breakout fantasy star.
Week 11 at Los Angeles
Ajayi has been on a tear, but be aware that the Dolphins are without star tackle Brandon Albert Week 11 against the Rams. This could hurt Ajayi. We still have him ranked as a top-10 RB on volume alone (20+ touches in four straight games), but his floor is lower than previous weeks in Week 11.
Week 10 at San Diego
Jay Ajayi's emergence as a top-10 RB has been one of the biggest surprises of the season. He now faces the Chargers who are 25th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to running backs. AJayi's heavy workload (26+ touches three straight weeks) combined with his production (500+ rushing yards in three games) make him a lock as an RB1 in Week 10.
Week 9 vs. New York Jets
Ajayi will try to become the only player with three consecutive 200-yard rushing games in NFL history this week, but it comes against an extremely tough Jets rush defense. At this point, Ajayi should be in your starting lineups, but temper expectations. The range of outcomes is large here. We have him as a mid-RB1 in standard and low-RB1 in PPR. His volume alone at this point though locks him into your lineups.
Week 7 vs. Buffalo
Jay Ajayi's monster game last week has led to renewed optimism about his fantasy stock moving forward, however, don't forget we haven't seen his usage with a healthy Arian Foster yet, and we will see that this week. We are projecting 13-14 touches, a far cry from his 26 touches last week. That makes Ajayi a borderline flex option against the Bills. This is a wait-and-see situation, as we'll need to see if his high volume usage continues.
Plus, the Dolphins could be without their above-average blocking tight end Dion Sims, which would also hurt the running game this week.
Week 6 vs. Pittsburgh
Arian Foster's likely return puts Jay Ajayi back in handcuff territory. He should not be anywhere near your starting lineups, despite a touchdown last week.
Week 5 vs. Tennessee
Head Coach Adam Gase said he will do away from the four-man committee this week, but we still don't know what the split will be between Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake. Because of that, both are not good options for your starting lineup Week 5 against the Titans.
