Wild Card Round vs. Atlanta Falcons

Gerald Everett caught 3-of-6 targets for 16 yards in the Rams' Week 17 loss to the 49ers. It was the first time in three games the rookie caught a pass and he's clearly an afterthought in Sean McVay's offense. Avoid him in all fantasy formats this weekend when the Rams host the Falcons in the Wild Card round.

Week 4 at Dallas Cowboys

Gerald Everett was not targeted in the Rams’ Week 3 win over the 49ers. The Rams erupted for 41 points in the victory, so it’s not a good sign for Everett’s fantasy value that he was shut out. Ranked as our TE28 for Week 4, avoid Everett when the Rams travel to Dallas on Sunday.

LA TE Gerald Everett - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at San Francisco

Rookie Gerald Everett led the Rams in receiving with 3 catches for 95 yards in the team's Week 2 loss to Washington. The rookie showed playmaking ability on a 69-yard reception in the second half but unfortunately left the game in the third quarter after suffering an injury. Everett ranks as our TE32 for Week 3, so avoid using him Thursday night in San Francisco. That said, keep him on your radar. Perhaps he'll turn into a streaming option at some point this season.

LA TE Gerald Everett - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Sean McVay handpicked Gerald Everett in the second round of April's draft, so at some point, Everett could climb the Rams' tight end depth chart. In fact, Tyler Higbee faces a possible suspension to start the season so Everett could be starting for the Rams sooner rather than later. A former basketball player for most of high school, Everett has the athleticism to be a nice weapon in the Rams' passing game.

Fantasy Downside

Even if Everett wins a starting job over Higbee, he still plays in one of the worst offenses in the league. Sammy Watkins will also dominate targets in the passing game and Todd Gurley remains the focal point of the offense. Everett doesn't figure to get many looks.

2017 Bottom Line

Everett has some upside but the Rams are unlikely to tap into that potential this season. Plus, rookie tight ends often struggle to make an impact in fantasy, so it's safe to leave Everett off your draft board this year.
