Week 3 at Vikings
Seattle seems back to hardly featuring the tight end in their offense. But as of now, Everett is clearly the Seattle tight end to own. He played 43/54 snaps in Week 2 while Will Dissly played just 26 snaps. And after seeing three targets in Week 1, Dissly saw zero in Week 2, while Everett had another two-target game. His athletic profile gives him upside as a TE2, but he looks like he'll be very limited each week, sitting behind Lockett, Metcalf and Carson in the pecking order.
Week 2 vs Titans
Gerald Everett and Will Dissly both played about 70% of snaps in Week 1 and both saw a few targets in the passing game. But it was Everett getting the look in the red zone and coming away with a touchdown grab in his Seahawks debut. It will be interesting to see if that's the plan moving forward. For now, consider Everett a TE2 against the Titans.
Week 1 at Colts
Gerald Everett is the new face in town, signing with the Seahawks in free agency this year. Seattle's new offensive coordinator is Shane Waldron, who was previously the passing-game coordinator for the Rams. This may finally be Everett's time to breakout, but Seattle is not going to just forget about Will Dissly. At the very least, Everett is out of the shadows of Tyler Higbee, where he scored just one touchdown in 2020. Seattle has worked the tight end into their offense more lately, so it will be interesting to follow this situation between Everett and Dissly.
Fantasy Upside
Gerald Everett broke free from his chain link with Tyler Higbee in Los Angeles to sign with the Seahawks in free agency. He also reunites with Shane Waldron, who was the passing-game coordinator for the Rams and is now the offensive coordinator in Seattle. He should become of the better tight-end options Russell Wilson has seen over his years as a Seahawk.
Fantasy Downside
While he is free from sharing the spotlight from Higbee, he will still share some time with Will Dissly, whom Seattle has been trying to groom in the offense. At least Everett's numbers can only go up, particularly his touchdown total from last season, which was one.
2021 Bottom Line
Everett has been hoping for a breakout season for some time now and perhaps it comes in Seattle, though he'll be firmly behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in the pecking order. The nice thing is that if you do believe in Everett in Seattle, you barely have to invest anything in him in your draft. You may even be able to claim him off waivers after the draft.
Week 15 vs New York Jets
Everett had a poor game last week against the New England Patriots as he caught 1-of-3 targets for nine yards. With Tyler Higbee also active, it was difficult for any of these TEs to get anything going. Leave Everett on the bench in this one.
Week 13 at Arizona
Everett had a rough game against the Niners last week, as he caught both of his targets for 16 yards. Both TEs were nonfactors in this game as Tyler Higbee caught one ball for six yards. In only the most desperate of situations should you consider starting Everett, as he ranks a low-end TE2 for us this week.
Week 11 at Tampa Bay
Everett had a dud of a game last week against Seattle, as he caught two balls for 27 yards. With both Everett and Tyler Higbee playing, it really is one or the other as far as who the fantasy-relevant TE will be. You cannot count on Everett being anything more than a low-end TE2 in Week 11.
Week 10 vs Seattle
Having seen an increased role in that past few weeks before the bye, Everett seems to be edging out Tyler Higbee for the starting TE role. Higbee had seen 16 total targets over the last five weeks whereas the ascending Everett has seen 18 targets in the last three weeks alone. Since the Rams offense spreads the ball around, Everett’s production will be capped, however, his level of athleticism coupled with his newfound target share has him the high-end TE2 mix.
Week 8 at Miami
With Tyler Higbee becoming a late inactive with a hand injury, Everett seized the starting role last week as he saw five targets for four catches, 28 yards and one touchdown. Outside of the score, Everett had a mostly forgetful game, as it goes for any member of the Rams receiving group. With Higbee missing practice again this week, Everett is penciled in as the starter, however, don’t expect anything more than TE2 numbers from him in a game that should heavily feature the running backs.
Week 7 vs Chicago
Everett was once again a part of the offensive game plan as he caught three passes for 27 yards on four targets. That makes consecutive games for Everett with four targets, and it matched Tyler Higbee’s target count as well. As the Rams try to get multiple players involved on offense, it leaves guys like Everett with the capability of contributing on a weekly basis. He is not more than TE2 this week, but if Higbee were to miss any time, he would be elevated to TE1 status.
