Week 2 at Cleveland
Walker is dealing with a hand injury that could make him a game-time decision. Expect him to play, but make sure you check the late inactives on Sunday. Walker caught three passes for 43 yards and a score last week and is typically one of the more active tight ends in the league. Cleveland, however, didn't allow a catch by a tight end last week against the Jets, so be careful here.
Week 1 vs. Minnesota
Walker is a silent killer in fantasy football. He doesn't get the publicity of some of the other top fantasy tight ends, but when you look up at the end of the year, there he is. Walker didn't play a lot in the preseason as the Titans took it easy on the old man, but tight ends are often a young QB's best friend and Walker will be a good outlet for Marcus Mariota. Tight ends work well against a cover-2 defense and Walker should find some openings against the Bucs this week.
Fantasy Upside
Delanie Walker is one of the more productive, yet least talked about tight ends in the game. He had 63 catches for 890 yards and four TDs last season. Considering how rookie QBs typically zero in on one or two receivers, he and Kendall Wright should see plenty of action.
Fantasy Downside
At 31 years old, there is always the chance Walker starts slowing down. Is 2015 the year that happens?
Bottom line
Walker is firmly entrenched in the second tier of fantasy tight ends. He's going a little later - rounds 10 to 12 - than some of the others in his range, so you might get a bargain here. He is a solid player.
Delanie Walker Week 17 vs. Colts
Coming off a four-catch, 54-yard effort last week, Delanie Walker could have a strong finish to this season. He had five catches for 84 yards and a score in the first meeting with Indianapolis, which has given up 10 TDs to opposing tight ends this season. If you have to take a chance on somebody in the Tennessee passing game, make Walker the guy.
Delanie Walker Week 16 vs. Jaguars
Delanie Walker is dealing with a sore knee, but he expects to play Thursday against the Jaguars. Walker had four catches for 93 yards last week and now faces a Jacksonville pass defense that has had its issues with tight ends. The Jags have given up seven TDs to tight ends this season. Walker's a nice tight end start this week.
Delanie Walker Week 15 vs. Jets
Delanie Walker had four receptions for 27 yards last week. But he's likely silently celebrating the return of Jake Locker to the starting lineup. In the first two games of this season, Walker had 13 receptions for 179 yards and two scores with Locker at QB. And the Jets have allowed an NFL-high 12 TE touchdowns this season. Walker is a strong TE start this week.
Delanie Walker Week 14 vs. Giants
Delanie Walker followed up a 5-155 line with one catch for six yards. Ouch. The Giants have allowed seven tight end touchdowns this season and Walker is a definite red zone target with four TDs this season. He's a solid second-tier tight end start this week.
Delanie Walker Week 13 vs. Texans
Delanie Walker celebrated his return to the lineup last week with a bang, catching five passes for 155 yards. He has scored in two of his three previous meetings with the Texans as a member of the Titans. Walker should be a nice, safe tight end start this week.
Delanie Walker Week 12 vs. Eagles
After sitting out last week with a concussion, Delanie Walker has been cleared to return to action. But he's got a tough matchup this week with the Eagles, who have given up just one TE touchdown all season. Philadelphia will allow some catches and yardage, so if you're OK with that, use Walker as a low-end starter this week.
Delanie Walker Week 10 vs. Ravens
Delanie Walker had four receptions for 37 yards and a score in rookie Zach Mettenberger's debut two weeks ago. A good tight end can be a rookie's best friend, especially in a road game where the home team figures to bring lots of pressure. But Baltimore has been solid this season against opposing tight ends. Walker is a low-end fantasy starter this week.
