Week 11 vs. Dallas Cowboys
At Chicago last week, Danny Amendola received eight targets from Jeff Driskel, resulting in four grabs for 29 yards - the second straight week he’s finished with exactly 29 yards. Amendola has been over 40 yards in just three contests in ’19 and still hasn’t been in the end zone since Week 1. Regardless of who the Detroit QB is on Sunday, he makes for no more than a WR3/flex option, especially versus a good Cowboys pass defense.
Week 10 at Chicago Bears
After back-to-back games in which Danny Amendola totaled 200 yards on 26 receptions, he was held to three catches for 29 yards at Oakland last Sunday. Matthew Stafford threw for over 400 yards in the loss, with Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones each eclipsing the century mark. At the mid-point of the season, Amendola has posted three good fantasy games but has not been in the end zone since Week 1. He remains a risky start, especially on the road against a stout Bears defense.
Week 9 at Oakland Raiders
For the second straight week, Danny Amendola was a big part of the Detroit passing attack. Against the Giants last Sunday, he caught all eight of his targets for 95 yards – upping his two-week total yardage to 200. It’s been an all or nothing kind of season for Amendola so far, posting at least 95 yards three times, but less than 10 yards on three other occasions, with his lone score coming in Week 1. He has a favorable matchup against a porous Oakland pass defense this week, but Amendola, being the third option in the passing game, is still only a WR3/flex start.
Week 8 vs. New York Giants
After not doing much since Week 1 Danny Amendola was a big part of the Lions passing attack versus Minnesota last Sunday. He was targeted 11 times, catching a season-high eight balls for 105 yards – his second 100-yard game this season. Outside of those two impressive outings, Amendola has totaled five receptions for 43 yards and no TDs. The Giants have struggled against the pass but Amendola is still a risky start, as it’s anticipated that Kenny Golladay will return to being Matthew Stafford’s top target.
Week 7 vs. Minnesota Vikings
In the loss at Green Bay on Monday, Danny Amendola saw only one target. Since his big performance in the opener, Amendola has registered just five total receptions. There must be better WR options for you to start this week, especially versus a good Minnesota defense.
Week 6 at Green Bay Packers
After missing the game two weeks ago due to a chest injury, Danny Amendola had an extra week to recover and should be back on the field on Sunday. He recorded 104 yards and a score in Week 1 but has only four grabs since. Amendola is best left on your bench in the tough matchup at Green Bay.
Week 4 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Danny Amendola saw five looks from Matthew Stafford last week, leading to four receptions for 37 yards. The Lions ran only 60 offensive plays, with Stafford passing for just 201 yards. Out of the slot WR position, Amendola will continue to experience up-and-down games, making him a risky fantasy play. In what could be a high-scoring affair at Ford Field on Sunday, he makes for a WR3/flex option at best.
Week 3 at Philadelphia Eagles
After a huge Week 1, Danny Amendola saw just one look from Matthew Stafford last Sunday and did not register a catch, despite being on the field for over half of the offensive snaps. Stafford has a lot of weapons, so it could be a rollercoaster year for the veteran. Amendola will remain the underneath option but is a risky fantasy start.
Week 2 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
What a nice Lions debut it was for Danny Amendola last Sunday at Arizona. On a team-leading 13 targets, he caught seven passes for 104 yards, including a 47-yard score. Sure, it was just one game, but Matthew Stafford loved throwing to Golden Tate in the slot. Expect another good outing for Amendola at Ford Field in the home opener versus a Chargers defense that was a bit shaky in its first game.
Week 1 at Arizona Cardinals
After a decent season with the Dolphins, Danny Amendola joins the Lions and reunites with HC Matt Patricia. In Miami, the 33-year-old caught 59 passes but averaged just 9.7 yards per catch and scored only once. Golden Tate had some great years in the slot position with Detroit, so Amendola could be in line for a solid season. However, it’s advised he remains on your bench for the opener.
