TEN WR Corey Davis - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Philadelphia Eagles

Corey Davis continues to get lots of targets. But he's not getting many catches. He had just two catches for 34 yards last week against a tough Jacksonville defense. But he's been targeted 24 times on the season and is clearly the No. 1 option for the Titans. Just 54 percent of his targets have been catchable, however, making matters tough. The Eagles have given up some catches to opposing receivers and Davis should get around 10. Use him as a WR3 option and hope.

Week 3 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Corey Davis hasn't put up terrible numbers in his first two games and caught five passes for 55 yards last week. But he's got just 11 catches on 20 targets thus far and draws a very tough matchup with either Jacksonville cornerback this week. Davis is nothing more than a flex play this week in a difficult matchup.

Week 2 vs. Houston Texans

The good news is that Corey Davis got 13 targets last week. The bad? He produced just six receptions for 62 yards on all of that action. And he sat out practice early in the week with a sore hamstring. He needs to start producing a better catch rate, but the volume is promising. New England attacked the Texans last week with Rob Gronkowski, but the weakness of Houston's defense is at CB. Davis should be used as a WR3.

Week 1 at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins allowed the fifth-most receiving yards to opposing wideouts in the league last year, which could bode well for Davis, who is looking for a breakout season. Marcus Mariota also is looking to rebound from a sub-par 2017, while Davis wants to establish himself as a true No. 1 receiver. This all adds up to Davis being worth a start as a No. 3 receiver this week. It's a leap of faith on the second-year receiver, but the fifth pick in last year's draft is talented.

Fantasy Upside

The Titans didn't take Corey Davis with the fifth pick in the draft last season not to use him. They want him to be their No. 1 receiver. After a rough rookie season, Davis had a decent postseason, catching nine passes and two touchdowns, perhaps showcasing things to come.

Fantasy Downside

Injuries and drops have marred Davis' career to this point and he's hurt once again in training camp.

2018 Bottom Line

Davis will get every chance to be the No. 1 receiver in Tennessee—if he can stay on the field. He caught just over 50 percent the passes thrown his way last season and needs to improve that ratio. But he's talented and Marcus Mariota should be better this season. His current ADP is placing him in the seventh or eighth round. He's probably a guy you should take as your third receiver with the hope he makes the leap in his second season to someone who catches 60+ passes for 800 or so yards. That sounds reasonable.

Divisional Round at New England Patriots

Corey Davis had 4 catches for 35 yards last week and will be a top option for the Titans again this week. But New England's corners will be a tough matchup for the rookie. He'll get enough looks to make him a WR3 option, but he's tough to count on in a big game such as this one.

Wild Card Round at Kansas City Chiefs

Corey Davis was shut out last week against Jacksonville's tough pass defense and has been wickedly inconsistent this season. But Kansas City figures to focus its defensive efforts elsewhere, which could allow the rookie to get some open looks. Can he catch them? In a week with few options, Davis is a lower-end option worth a flier. But he's a gamble.

Week 17 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Corey Davis had 6 receptions for 91 yards last week in what was easily his best game of his rookie season. For his reward, he gets to face the NFL's top pass defense. That should make things very difficult on the rookie, who doesn't know all of the tricks to the trade. Davis should only be a FLEX play.

Week 15 at San Francisco 49ers

Corey Davis had 3 catches for 29 yards last week, once again posting disappointing numbers. The top-five pick in last year's draft hasn't played like one. And playing with a struggling Marcus Mariota hasn't helped. Davis just shouldn't be in your lineup.

Week 14 at Arizona Cardinals

Corey Davis' disappointing rookie season continued last week as he had just 2 catches for 12 yards. Drops continue to be an issue and he's catching just over 50% of the passes thrown his way. Davis still gets enough looks to be considered a FLEX play, but only in desperate times.
