NYJ WR Corey Davis - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Atlanta
Corey Davis showed why he was brought in to be the Jets' No. 1 receiver with his best game in the green uniform. Davis caught four passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 27.8 yards per catch and showed he is developing a good relationship with rookie QB Zach Wilson.

The Jets head to London to take on the Falcons. Davis faces a defense that is ranked 24th in aFPA to wide receivers. He has put up steady numbers all season and with the favorable matchup, we like Davis for Week 5. Start Davis as a solid WR2 against Atlanta.

NYJ WR Corey Davis - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Tennessee
Corey Davis had a season-high 10 targets last week, but it only produced five catches for 41 yards. He will have some motivation this week facing his former team. There is little doubt he is the No. 1 receiver and fantasy player on the Jets roster. But that's not saying much.

The Titans are ranked 28th in aFPA to wide receivers. The matchup should help Davis and makes him fantasy relevant for Week 4.

Start Davis as a high-end WR3 or Flex against Tennessee. The motivation will help him somewhat but the favorable matchup and high targets will help him more to put up usable fantasy numbers.

NYJ WR Corey Davis - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Denver
Corey Davis has put up solid fantasy numbers throughout his career and now he is with the Jets. He has seven receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers should be consistent as he is the No. 1 target in the passing game but the problem is a rookie quarterback will struggle which will limit a big game for Davis.

Davis will face a tough Denver defense ranked fourth in aFPA to wide receivers. They will continue to protect their young quarterback by running the ball and safe passes. There will be some times with better matchups that Davis has fantasy value but not for Week 3. Keep him on the bench.

NYJ WR Corey Davis - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. New England
Corey Davis had a great Jets debut and proved why he is the No. 1 option on the Jets on the field and in fantasy. Davis pulled in five receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He was the most targeted player on the team.

Davis faces the Patriots whose defense was ranked 10th in aFPA to wide receivers after in 2020. We expect New England to pay special attention to Davis so his production should take a hit this week

Start Davis with caution as a low-end WR3 or flex. Might not be much there for him but we think he still will get targeted six to eight times.

NYJ WR Corey Davis - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Carolina
The Jets brought in a veteran wide receiver for the rookie quarterback. Corey Davis immediately is elevated to the No. 1 receiver in New York. He had a career-high 984 receiving yards last season as the No. 2 in Tennessee so he should top that mark in 2021.

New York faces Carolina who was ranked eighth in aFPA to wide receivers in 2020. Davis will get attention from the Panthers secondary, but he should be the most targeted Jets receiver.

Start Davis as a WR3 or flex for Week 1. Expect 4-5 catches for 60 yards. That should give you some help for your team in that role.

NYJ WR Corey Davis - 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
The Jets rebuilt their receiving corps for new quarterback Zach Wilson. The best of the new group is veteran Corey Davis. The former Tennessee Titan set career-highs last season in receptions, receiving yardage, yards per catch and receiving touchdowns. Davis will start the season as the No. 1 receiver as the Jets rookie QB will rely on the veterans to get him through some early growing pains.

Fantasy Downside
There are a lot of question marks for New York's offense, as all the skills players are basically new to the team. It's a new coaching staff for the Jets, as well. So everyone's role will be a work in progress including Davis. He also has never eclipsed the 1,000 receiving-yard mark in his career and 65 is his highest reception total. Can Davis be a clear No. 1 option in the Jets offense? He has the talent, but it is risky if you are counting on it.

Bottom Line
Davis is most likely to repeat his performance last year with Tennessee. However, that should be his ceiling. The Jets offense will probably spread the ball around to all skill players which means Davis will see around 90 targets. That's not No. 1 numbers. When you go to draft him, he is depth for your lineup at this point who will help you as a reliable veteran if you have injuries or bye weeks where you need someone to help.

TEN WR Corey Davis - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Houston Texans
In the loss to the Packers last Sunday, Corey Davis was held without a catch only two targets from Ryan Tannehill. Between facing a solid secondary and the snowy weather, consider the outing an anomaly. Davis missed the first meeting versus the Texans in October, but Tannehill threw for over 350 yards that day, so consider him a WR2 in the regular-season finale.

TEN WR Corey Davis - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Green Bay Packers
With the help of a 75-yard touchdown, Corey Davis led the Titans with 110 receiving yards on four catches versus Detroit last week. He has recorded five 100-yards outings this season to go along with five scores. Davis will be facing a top-10 pass defense on the road Sunday, but consider him a WR2 start.

TEN WR Corey Davis - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Detroit Lions
With Derrick Henry controlling the game on the ground and A.J. Brown posting a 100-yard receiving effort, Corey Davis finished with only three catches for 34 yards in the win last week at Jacksonville. It was the fourth time in his 11 contests this season that Davis was held to three grabs or fewer. However, he’s still averaging over 75 yards per outing and has a good matchup versus the Lions No. 27 pass defense on Sunday.

TEN WR Corey Davis - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Jacksonville Jaguars
What an outing Corey Davis had last week in the loss to the Browns. He posted career highs of 11 grabs and 182 yards, scoring his fourth TD of the season. Davis has registered four 100-yard games this year and is averaging 122 yards the past three weeks. In the September win over the Jags, he caught three balls for 36 yards with a score and is a WR2 play in the rematch.
