PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Seattle Seahawks
Pat Feriermuth had a goose egg across the board last Saturday with zero targets, zero receptions, and of course zero receiving yards. It was surprising and we don't expect that to happen again, but maybe new QB Mason Rudolph isn't a big tight end guy.

Freiermuth has a favorable matchup this week against Seattle, but he only ranks as a TE2. Keep him on the bench for Week 17.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Pat Freiermuth had three catches for 16 yards last Sunday and has not been much of a factor the last three games since he had his 100-yard receiving game against the Bengals.

The matchup is favorable as Cincinnati is ranked dead last in aFPA to tight ends. However, the Steelers quarterback situation is unstable and the offense continues to struggle so keep Freiermuth on the bench for Week 16 even after the success several weeks ago.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Indianapolis Colts
Pat Freiermuth has gotten targets the last three weeks, but the last two have only produced 47 receiving yards. He is still looking for his first touchdown since he returned from injury last month.

It's a very favorable matchup this week against the Colts. But the Steelers overall offense should keep Freiermuth from having a good fantasy week. Keep him on the bench for Week 15 as a TE2.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New England Patriots
After a monster game two weeks ago, Pat Freiermuth was held to three receptions for 29 yards. Mitch Trubisky takes over at quarterback which might help Freiermuth as the veteran QB relies on tight ends a lot.

Freiermuth has a tough matchup against New England who are ranked ninth in aFPA to tight ends. Lots of unknowns with the quarterback situation and short week. Keep Feriermuth on the bench for Week 14 as a TE2.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals
Pat Friermuth exploded in his second game coming back from IR. He had 11 targets that produced nine catches for 120 yards. His stock had been rising at the beginning of the season and now we see why. He has definitely become a big target for QB Kenny Pickett in the middle of the field.

Freiermuth faces the Cardinals who are ranked fifth in aFPA to tight ends. Even with a tough matchup, the Steelers offense was the best we have seen all season with the new offensive coordinator so there are some positives going into Sunday.

Start Freiermuth as a TE1 for Week 13. Although he might not have as big a game as last Sunday, he should still put up good fantasy numbers.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Los Angeles Rams
Pat Freiermuth missed the game before the bye week, but is expected to be back for the Rams game. His number have been disappointing, but we still think he has potential to put up some really good tight end numbers.

Los Angeles is one of the worst defenses against tight ends in 2023 ranked 31st in aFPA. If Freiermuth plays, start him as a solid TE1 for Week 7 as we expect QB Kenny Pickett to get him involved.

Update: Freiermuth has been declared out for this week, so be sure to get him out of lineups. Connor Heyward may get a small bump in snaps, but it's too risky to trust any of the backup Pittsburgh tight ends.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Houston Texans
After a slow start to the season, Pat Freiermuth had a good fantasy outing with three receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. This is more what was expected by managers who drafted him, but his ceiling is even higher.

Freiermuth has a favorable matchup against the Texans this week who are ranked 26th in aFPA to tight ends. The Steelers passing numbers have been consistent the first three weeks, and we expect it to stay that way. Start Freiermuth as a TE1 for Week 3. He got on track last week and should continue to stay involved.
