Commanders activate TE Logan Thomas (ACL) from PUP

Washington activated TE Logan Thomas from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List.

Fantasy Impact:

Now it will be a race to get ready for Week 1. Thomas had a nice year in 2020 before getting hurt in 2021. He caught 72 balls for 670 yards and six TDs. A lot of that production came over the final five weeks, including catches of 9, 6, 13 and 7 from Weeks 12-15. He also collected 44 of his 110 targets during that four-week span. Obviously he was poised for a huge year in 2021 before tearing his ACL. The potential is still there for 2022, assuming he can get back up to speed. He'll have some late-round value as a TE2 with TE1 potential if things go right. If he's not ready, Bates would be next up.

WFT WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) and TE Ricky Seals-Jones (concussion) will not play Week 18 against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Samuel was an injury bust this season, while RSJ showed signs of life backing up Logan Thomas for the WFT.

The Washington Football Team is expected to place TE Logan Thomas (knee) on IR. The extent of his injury is still unknown.

Tough blow for WFT after just getting Thomas back two weeks ago. Look for RSJ and John Bates to see increases in work.

Ron Rivera said they received better than expected news on TE Logan Thomas. Said the tests this morning DID NOT confirm their worst fear, which was a torn ACL.

Fantasy Impact:

While the status of Thomas is terms of being a fantasy starter the rest of the year is up in the air, it's potentially great news for Washington and what they hope is a playoff run as they currently sit in the final wild card spot. Thomas will have further evaluation to confirm the true extent of the injury and perhaps a timeline. Seals-Jones was dealing with his own injury leaving Bates as the top TE in Week 11 before Thomas returned in Weeks 12 and 13.
