Scouting report

LV RB Zamir White - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Kansas City Chiefs

Zamir White has had a true fall from grace compared to his ADP over the summer. He's at RB50 in our rankings this weekend and shouldn't be in your lineup except for the most dire circumstances.

LV RB Zamir White - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Denver Broncos

Zamir White has disappointed fantasy managers at every turn this season. He managed to turn 18 opportunities into just 50 yards from scrimmage in Week 4.

Now he's our RB33 and has fallen below teammate Alexander Mattison. He's projected for under 8 half-PPR points, so hopefully there are other options somewhere on your roster.

LV RB Zamir White - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Cleveland Browns

Zamir White's ranking is in free fall. After another woeful performance, it's getting harder and harder to trust White. The issue is, given his ADP, you might not have many other trustworthy options.

He's seen fewer and fewer touches each week with the surprising efficiency of Alexander Mattison behind him. White is our RB35 at the moment and only in flex consideration in a perfect world.

LV RB Zamir White - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Carolina Panthers

It seemed as though Zamir White would get the lion's share of the backfield work in Las Vegas this year but that hasn't quite been the case through two weeks. He's been on the field for 51% of the snaps thus far. White does have 28 opportunities on those 63 snaps so when he's on the field he is being used but we anticipated that snap share to be much higher heading into the year.

He's our RB24 this week but his managers are hoping for some efficiency to offset that lack of volume.

LV RB Zamir White - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Baltimore Ravens

Zamir White was the starter and saw 15 opportunities in Week 1. He was outsnapped by Alexander Mattison, though, and was far less efficient. That's not a great sign, especially when you consider Head Coach Antonio Pierce's "hot hand" comments on how they'll proceed with the running back rotation.

Our rankings have White as the RB33 this week in half PPR. He'll need to get off to a hot start in order to justify a starting spot in your lineup this weekend.

LV RB Zamir White - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Los Angeles Chargers

With Josh Jacobs out of the picture, Zamir White should be the undisputed top guy in Las Vegas. His breakout performance at the end of last year has everyone excited to see what he can do with a full season. In his only four starts last year, he averaged 21 carries for nearly 100 yards and just over three targets for 15 yards through the air.

He's our RB24 this week but that might be on the lower end of what we will come to expect throughout the year. White is locked into your lineups until further notice.

LV RB Zamir White - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Zamir White has been given the keys to the Raiders' castle with the departure of Josh Jacobs. We have Zamir White as a low-end RB2 option with about 1,100 total yards on 270 opportunities. His upside would come from a double-digit touchdown season. We have him projected for seven touchdowns but if he could get to 10 or 11, that would be good enough to jump 10 spots in the rankings.

Fantasy Downside

The downside for White is his lack of involvement in the passing game. We have him projected for just 29 receptions. That's lower than almost everyone in the Top 40 running backs. It's nice to have a receiving floor from backs that you're relying on every week. If he becomes too touchdown-dependent, and the touchdowns don't come, it's going to be a long season for his managers.

2024 Bottom Line

In redraft, I'm steering clear of White. He's going in the 8th round and there are way too many options at both running back and wide receiver in that range that have significantly higher upside.
