Scouting report

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Philadelphia Eagles

Trey McBride had a slow day by his standards against the Bears last week, gaining just 31 yards. Still, he caught six balls and was targeted eight times. McBride has at least five catches in seven of his last eight games and has amassed 93 targets on the season, despite not starting until October. He’s been one of the more consistent options as a fantasy tight end due to his impressive usage in the offense.

This week, McBride faces a Philadelphia defense that ranks 20th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. Expect another busy day for the second-year standout out of Colorado State, with plenty of targets and upside in all leagues. We have him ranked as a quality TE1 option. Start him.

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears

Trey McBride had another nice game last week against the 49ers, catching 10 of his 11 targets for 102 yards. McBride is by far the most-targeted player in Arizona right now and he has double-digit PPR points in five of his last seven games. McBride only has two touchdowns on the season, but his usage has been good enough to keep him among the elite players at his position, even without finding the end zone.

This week, McBride faces a Chicago defense that ranks ninth in aFPA to opposing tight ends. Regardless of matchup, the targets he’s getting make him a must-start at the position. McBride has been one of the best waiver-wire pickups of the season, and fantasy managers lucky enough to acquire him should continue starting him this week.

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Trey McBride had another great game against the Steelers before the bye last week. He was targeted nine times for the second straight week, catching eight balls for 89 yards and a touchdown. McBride only has two touchdowns on the season, but he has at least seven catches and at least 60 yards in three of his last four outings.

This week, McBride faces a San Francisco defense that ranks second in aFPA to opposing tight ends. It’s a tough matchup for him, but the targets he’s been getting make him a must-start regardless of the opponent. We have him ranked inside our top five tight ends this week.

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Trey McBride was once again a bright spot in this offense last week, despite a blowout loss to the Rams. He finished with 60 yards on seven receptions and was targeted nine times. McBride has 25 targets over the last three games since Kyler Murray returned to the field, and his upside is sky high for the remainder of the season.

This week, McBride faces a Pittsburgh defense that ranks 15th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. McBride’s targets and emergence as a top fantasy option at the position make him a must-start regardless of matchup at this point. He’s one of the best waiver wire pickups on the season, and he should be active in all leagues. Start him.

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Trey McBride continued his impressive breakout campaign last week with 43 yards on five catches. He was targeted seven times - second-highest on the team - and has 16 total targets in two games with Kyler Murray under center. With that kind of attention, he’s bound to find the end zone again, which has been his one downside so far this season - only one on the year.

This week, McBride faces a Rams defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. While they’ve been stingy against backs and receivers, tight ends have been the way to defeat this Los Angeles defense, and expect McBride to take full advantage of that. Expect another busy day from the second-year tight end, and we have him ranked as an elite fantasy option for Week 12.

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Houston Texans

Trey McBride had a great game last week in a victory over the Falcons. He caught eight of his nine targets for 131 yards. It was great to see him lead the team in targets in Kyler Murray’s return from injury, and if he isn’t rostered in your leagues, he should be a hot pickup now.

This week, McBride has a great matchup against a Houston defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. With a vulnerable opponent and a healthy quarterback, the sky's the limit for the former second-round pick out of Colorado State, and we have him ranked as a solid starting TE1 in all fantasy leagues this week. Start him.

ARI TE Trey McBride - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Trey McBride caught three of his five targets for 22 yards in a lopsided loss to the Browns last week. McBride was coming off a huge performance against the Ravens the previous week, but it’s hard to fault him for failing to produce against a tough Cleveland defense with Clayton Tune at quarterback. Better days should be ahead of the sophomore.

This week, McBride faces an Atlanta defense that ranks 22nd in aFPA to opposing tight ends. McBride also is expected to get Kyler Murray back at quarterback. A better matchup and a huge quarterback upgrade should put McBride back in starter territory, and we have him ranked just inside our 10 best tight end options for this week.
