DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Detroit Lions

It was another frustrating fantasy outing for Tony Pollard in Week 16. Pollard managed just 38 yards on 12 attempts and caught a single pass for five yards as Pollard posted 4.8 Half-PPR points, good for RB46 in Fantasy Semi-Final week. Pollard has gone three games since his last touchdown (though how he failed to score on one goal-line play against the Dolphins defied science) and hasn't cracked 100 yards from scrimmage in four straight games.

Pollard is a mid-tier RB2 option in Week 17, with the Detroit Lions ranking 11th in aFPA to running backs coupled with his inefficiency making him a player unlikely to bring home the bacon all by himself.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Miami Dolphins

Tony Pollard, like the rest of the Cowboys offense, will want to forget Week 15 in a hurry. Pollard's 52 rushing yards and five receiving yards helped him to the princely sum of 6.7 Half-PPR points against the Bills, a tally exceeded by 33 other backs last week.

The Dolphins have been stingy towards fantasy running backs this season, ranking ninth in aFPA to the position in 2023. Pollard has a safe weekly workload, just not one that seems likely to lead to fantasy superstardom any time soon. Still, we should probably safely project him for high-end RB2/low-end RB1 production this week.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Buffalo Bills

Tony Pollard put in another Tony Pollard-type performance against the Eagles last week, with 59 rushing yards and another 37 on seven receptions. He was held out of the end zone, which kept his output to 13.1 Half-PPR points, and finished as the RB17. This is exactly where Pollard ranks in average fantasy points per game this season.

The Bills have not exactly been stellar against fantasy running backs this season, ranking 24th in aFPA to the position. But based on his form this season, coupled with the potential ceding of goal line work to Rico Dowdle, high-end RB2 territory might be the safest projection for Pollard this week.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Tony Pollard found the end zone again in Week 13, but his 23 total touches only brought 71 yards from scrimmage and 15.8 Half-PPR points. Pollard finished as the RB13 and is RB19 in points per game in 2023.

The Eagles have been tough on running backs this season, ranking first in aFPA to the position. Pollard continues to see plenty of opportunities, however, and in what should be a high-scoring game he should be able to put up mid-tier RB1 numbers.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Tony Pollard found the end zone again against Washington in Week 13, adding a touchdown to his 79 rushing yards and six receptions for 24 yards. He managed 19.3 Half-PPR points, a significant uptick on his seasonal average of 12.2, and finished as the RB9 for the week.

Pollard should be able to continue his recent good form against the Seahawks, who rank a mere 28th in aFPA to running backs this season. He may even be able to record 100 yards rushing for the first time since Week 3...maybe. Even so, he projects as a solid RB1 in Week 13.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Washington Commanders

Tony Pollard found the end zone for the first time since Week 1 against the Panthers, but the score didn't really elevate his performance to anything above functional. He did finish as the RB12 with 16 Half PPR points, but Pollard has not been the guy fantasy managers hoped for all season. He's the RB24 in average points per game.

Maybe, MAYBE, he can build on his Week 11 form and produce again against the Commanders on Thanksgiving. The Commanders rank eighth in aFPA to running backs this season, but given how pass-happy the Cowboys have been lately Pollard will likely need another trip or two to the end zone to make his day worthwhile. Still, he should be viewed as a mid-tier RB1 this week.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Carolina Panthers

It continues to not happen for Tony Pollard, despite a plum Week 10 matchup. Pollard could only muster 5.5 Half-PPR points, a tally exceeded by 37 other backs last week. Pollard has averaged just 10.9 fantasy points per game this season and sits at RB27 in points per game.

The Panthers have positively bled fantasy production to running backs in 2023, and rank 31st in aFPA to the position. But Dallas embracing the passing game, not to mention Pollard's lack of elite production, make him tough to trust this week. He should be able to flirt with high-end RB2 numbers, but he's been under 10 points in five of his last six outings. Risky doesn't even come close.
