Scouting report

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New England

Rueben Randle caught all five of the passes thrown his way against Tampa Bay last week with a touchdown, but he only wound up with 40 yards. He remains one of the bigger targets in New York, which hurts his yards per catch average, and he has been inconsistent in the red zone, where he should be more productive.

This week, he faces a middle of the road Patriots pass defense that has given up 12 touchdown passes on the season. He has some upside because the Pats offense will likely force the Giants to continue to pass the whole game, but Randle has been too reliable to trust. He should remain on the bench in most leagues.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Tampa Bay

Rueben Randle was targeted nine times last week in a shootout against the Saints. He ended up with five receptions for 55 yards as the Giants lost 49-52 despite six touchdown passes from Eli Manning. Randle has looked more in synch with Manning this season, but has still been wildly inconsistent in his production.

This week, Randle will face a Tampa Bay defense that has been pretty good in limiting the amount of passing yards by opposing quarterbacks, but has given up 17 touchdown passes so far this year. While Randle is too risky to bank on, the matchup gives him low-end WR3 sleeper potential in large leagues.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New Orleans

Rueben Randle ended up with just two catches last week against the Cowboys, but managed to gain 68 yards in the process. He was targeted five times on the day, but the Giants offense struggled the entire game and they were lucky to come out with a win.

This week, Randle has a great matchup against the Saints, but the Giants have had such a hard time getting him the ball consistently that it’s hard to trust him. He has some upside as a deep league WR3 against the Saints 26th ranked pass defense, but fantasy owners should probably just keep him on the bench if possible.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Dallas

Rueben Randle had 44 yards on five catches last week, and he caught all but one of the balls thrown his way in a losing effort against the Eagles. The Giants looked good early and then lost whatever groove they had going, and Randle was unable to do much with his five receptions.

This week, Randle faces a Dallas defense that has been pretty good this year, ranking in the top-10 in both total yards and touchdowns allowed to opposing passers. Randle has some upside as a starter in the Giants offense, but he’s far too underwhelming to count on. The Giants still favor Odell Beckham Jr. in the passing game, and Randle is a low-end WR3 option in most leagues.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Philadelphia

Rueben Randle was targeted six times last week against the 49ers, but he only had 42 yards on five receptions for the day. Randle has played better and more consistent this season compared to last, but he’s still not a steady enough fantasy producer to inspire much confidence for owners looking for a strong upside play.

Randle has a nice matchup this week against the Eagles. Philly can create turnovers, but they also give up yards and points, and the game might end up being a shootout. Randle is too inconsistent to be considered a top option, but as a top 40 guy on our board this week at the position, he has some value as a WR3 in deep leagues with upside.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. San Francisco

Rueben Randle had a decent game against the Bills last week. He finished with only 31 yards and three catches, but he was targeted six times on the day and had a touchdown. Randle will likely continue to have up and down games throughout the season, but it’s good to see him be an active part of the offense two weeks in a row.

This week, Randle faces a struggling 49ers defense and could benefit from the matchup. He remains a nice red zone target for quarterback Eli Manning, and has some sleeper value in large leagues. His inconsistent history makes him a risk however, and we have him just outside our top thirty receivers this week. He’s a WR3 option in most leagues.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Buffalo
Rueben Randle finally showed up against Washington last week, finishing the game with 116 yards and a touchdown. He caught all seven of the passes thrown his way and looked more dialed in than he did all of last season. Randle will face a Bills defense that creates turnovers but also gives up yards in the passing game this week, but he’s a risky option due to his lack of consistency. He'll have at least one more week without Victor Cruz eating into his targets, but we need to see it from Randle for a few weeks before we recommend starting him.
