PHI WR Rueben Randle - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Coming into this season, Rueben Randle is the Eagles most experienced receiver at the age of just 25. Randle signed later in the free agency period with seemingly not a lot of interest. Randle actually produced eight TDs last year with the Giants and caught five TDs in his last six games, including a TD in each of his final four games. There isn't a lot in the way between Randle and a starting job with the Eagles. Jordan Matthews is probably the team's most talented WR, but he plays the slot leaving both outside positions pretty much open to claim.

Fantasy Downside
Randle isn't the biggest playmaker or the most explosive receiver. Over the course of his career, he was known to not be on the same page with Giants QB Eli Manning, which is going to get you in the doghouse. While Randle seems likely to earn an outside spot, he takes a hit going from Manning to Sam Bradford as his QB. He also won't have Odell Beckham on the other side, so he'll likely draw a team's top corner. With Chip Kelly out of town, expect the offense to move at a slower pace.

Overall Outlook
If you believe in the theory that "someone has to catch the ball," then Randle may be the guy for you to grab late in drafts. Randle is just 85th on our WR list and is only getting late-round attention in fantasy drafts. It's hard not seeing Randle at least worth a later-round flier, even in typical leagues based on his experience compared to other WRs on the Eagles roster.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Philadelphia

Rueben Randle had a nice 72 yard touchdown reception last week against the Vikings, long after the game was decided, but he only finished with two total catches on the day for 80 yards. He’s been too inconsistent for fantasy owners to count on, and one long bomb isn’t convincing enough to prove he’s turned a corner with Eli Manning.

This week, Randle gets a great matchup against the Eagles, who have allowed the second most touchdown passes to opposing teams this year. This gives him a little upside as a low end WR3 in most leagues, but if you can look elsewhere, you’d be better off, as he’s struggled far more than he’s succeeded this year and should be considered a very risky option. He likely should remain on your bench.

NYG WR Rueben Randle - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Minnesota

Rueben Randle had a touchdown last week, but only caught four passes for 47 yards against the Panthers. Randle continues to be an inconsistent fantasy option. While he’s had six touchdown receptions this season, he’s only had one game this year with over five receptions and over 100 yards.

This week, Randle should benefit from the absence of suspended superstar Odell Beckham Jr., likely seeing an increase in targets. However, he’s been way too inconsistent to count on, and even in the past when he’s had the opportunity to separate himself as a WR1, he’s failed to step up. The Vikings are an above average pass defense, and Randle should be considered no better than a low-end WR3 in most leagues.

Week 15 vs. Carolina
Rueben Randle had five catches for 58 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins on Monday night as the Giants pulled off a much needed victory. Randle hasn’t been consistent enough to warrant adding to a fantasy roster however, and with the Carolina Panthers and their fifth ranked pass defense next on the schedule, Randle should not be counted on in any league format.

Week 14 vs. Miami
Rueben Randle has never really been on the same page with quarterback Eli Manning, and he had only two catches and 22 yards last week in a loss to the Jets, despite being targeted six times on the day. Randle has often been outplayed by other Giants receivers, and though he was second on the team in targets last week, those targets were still dwarfed by the amount of balls that go the way of Odell Beckham Jr. Fantasy owners can’t trust Randle to put up consistent enough numbers to warrant any real roster consideration, and he should remain on waivers in most leagues.

Week 13 vs. New York Jets
Rueben Randle had a 36-yard touchdown catch last week against Washington, but unfortunately that was the only catch he made all day, despite being targeted six times. Fantasy owners can’t trust Randle’s inconsistency, especially when his bad outings far outnumber his good ones. He should remain on waivers in most leagues.

Week 12 at Washington
Rueben Randle has had a hard time putting up good numbers on a consistent basis this season, and he was only targeted four times for 51 yards against the Patriots before the bye. Randle has the potential to be a decent red zone threat, but with Dwayne Harris playing pretty well and most of the offensive looks going to Odell Beckham Jr., Randle has limited fantasy upside and should be on your bench this week.
