CHI WR Rome Odunze - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New England Patriots
We finally got our second exciting Rome Odunze performance of the season after a 5-104-0 line in Week 9, his second 100+ game. He has now scored at least 7.0 half-PPR points in two games as the team seems content to involve veteran options at a much higher rate. D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen have the namesake to demand more work, but Cole Kmet and DeAndre Carter also have a higher target-per-route-run rate on the season. Odunze should be in consideration as a WR3 but this is more of a risk/reward play than a "sure thing."

CHI WR Rome Odunze - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 @ Arizona Cardinals
We've got our one exciting Rome Odunze performance (Week 3, 6-112-1) on the season and we've been waiting patiently for the next. He has now scored at least 7.0 half-PPR points in only one game as the team seems content to involve veteran options at a much higher rate. D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen have the namesake to demand more work, but Cole Kmet and DeAndre Carter also have a higher target-per-route-run rate on the season. Odunze should be held for better days, but he can remain on benches for now.

CHI WR Rome Odunze - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Rome Odunze is too talented to keep out of fantasy box scores through the whole season but there are likely to be some duds mixed throughout, including four of his first five games. But the low-floor/high-ceiling aspect of Odunze in Year 1 gave us the positive side of the coin in Week 3, when he turned 11 targets into a 20+ point, 6-112-1 game. Keenan Allen did miss that game, which shows us that when all three receivers are healthy, Odunze may be the odd man out more often than not.

CHI WR Rome Odunze - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Carolina Panthers
Rome Odunze is too talented to keep out of fantasy box scores through the whole season but there are likely to be some duds mixed throughout, including three of his first four games.

CHI WR Rome Odunze - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Rams
Rome Odunze is too talented to keep out of fantasy box scores through the whole season but there are likely to be some duds mixed throughout, including the first two weeks of the year. But the low-floor/high-ceiling aspect of Odunze in Year 1 gave us the positive side of the coin in Week 3, when he turned 11 targets into a 20+ point, 6-112-1 game. Keenan Allen did miss that game, but there's also a chance he's limited in Week 4, which makes the rookie an interesting gamble as a WR3.

CHI WR Rome Odunze - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Tennessee Titans
Rome Odunze is too talented to keep out of fantasy box scores through the whole season but there are likely to be some duds mixed throughout. In run-heavy gamescripts, for example, the rookie could be all but phased out through swaths of game time. With that said, the low-floor/high-ceiling aspect of Odunze in Year 1 makes him an intriguing pick, with a lot of upside if something were to happen to Allen or Moore. For Week 1, he is only a Flex option.

CHI WR Rome Odunze - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Rome Odunze is coming into the professional ranks on a high note, racking up 1,500+ yards receiving and 13 touchdowns on a 24.5% target share. He did so with crisp route-running and jump-ball ability, winning in all areas of the field with Washington. If he forms an early connection with fellow rookie Caleb Williams, there's really no telling what his ceiling might be. With Williams' ability to create out-of-the-pocket, Odunze could flex his speed on broken and elongated plays for huge gains.

Fantasy Downside
The target competition looks almost insurmountable if everyone stays healthy. Odunze is locked in on 3-WR sets, but if OC Shane Waldron continues to use a high rate of multiple TE sets in Chicago, Odunze is likely to be the odd man out. Keenan Allen is one of the best intermediate target earners in the NFL, while D.J. Moore showed out as a deep threat last year with a more lackluster offense. Odunze's week-to-week consistency could be a hard pill to swallow in typical redraft leagues.

2024 Bottom Line
Rome Odunze is too talented to keep out of fantasy box scores through the whole season but there are likely to be some duds mixed throughout. In run-heavy gamescripts, for example, the rookie could be all but phased out through swaths of game time. With that said, the low-floor/high-ceiling aspect of Odunze in Year 1 makes him an intriguing pick, with a lot of upside if something were to happen to Allen or Moore.
