Wildcard Weekend – Robert Hughes vs. Carolina

Robert Hughes had one carry and a one catch for 15 yards last week against the 49ers and he remains the primary blocking fullback in the Cardinals offense. That could potentially lead to a short yardage carry or two, but there’s no reason to think he’s going to put up legit fantasy numbers in any given week. Look elsewhere.

Week 17 – Robert Hughes vs. San Francisco
Robert Hughes had one failed short yardage attempt against the Seahawks for no gain last week. He’s a fullback on a team with a struggling offense and a crowded running back depth chart following an injury to their starter. No reason to expect decent fantasy numbers this week.

Robert Hughes didn’t get a carry last week against the Rams and remains mostly in a blocking capacity in Arizona. This is especially the case with the emergence of Kerwynn Williams as a viable runner for the Cardinals, alleviating the need to play Hughes out of position. Leave him on waivers in all fantasy leagues.

Robert Hughes has been the primary fullback for the Cardinals, and in that role did not touch the ball last week, even after Andre Ellington left the game with a hip injury. Hughes should remain in that role, which makes him irrelevant to fantasy owners. He should remain on waivers.

Robert Hughes had one carry for three yards last week against the Seahawks, and he’s taken on a very traditional fullback role for the Cardinals with the return of Stepfan Taylor from injury. Hughes will remain in that capacity and has little to no fantasy value with so few touches sent his way.
