Fantasy Upside
Rashid Shaheed comes in as WR45 in our rankings with a projection of 55 receptions, 829 yards, and five touchdowns. The upside case for Shaheed relies strongly on the deep ball. He only caught 46 balls last year, but with a career 16.3 yards per reception mark, his fantasy scoring could explode with extra volume. If his target floor can rise this year, there's no reason why he could slot in as a WR3 for most of the season.
Fantasy Downside
His target floor is the issue, though. Shaheed, with his current role, is capable of putting up matchup killing weeks with a line of 2 receptions for 14 yards like he did in Week 17 last year. One-third of his games last year ended with three or fewer targets. It's tough to rely on someone as a flex or WR3 option when that is in their range of outcomes.
2024 Bottom Line
With a 9th round price tag, you're not heavily invested in him. If you can get him as your WR5 as a fill-in for bye weeks and see how his role develops, he's a fine selection in redraft or best ball. If he can get closer to a five-target-per-week floor, you could be looking at someone who should've been going a few rounds earlier by year's end.
