Scouting report

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Los Angeles Chargers
In the loss to the Bills last Saturday, Phillip Lindsay received the same number of carries as Melvin Gordon, 11, but finished with only 45 total yards. The last time he was in the end zone was in the Nov. 1 comeback win versus the Chargers when he rushed for 83 yards. Don’t expect a repeat performance, so Lindsay should remain on your bench for the rematch.

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Buffalo Bills
In the balanced-attack win against the Panthers last Sunday, Phillip Lindsay was held to only 24 yards on 11 carries. Even though he continues to share the workload with Melvin Gordon, over the past three weeks Lindsay is averaging just over 25 scrimmage yards and hasn’t found pay dirt since Nov. 1. He just hasn’t been producing enough to warrant a fantasy start in this crucial part of your season.

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Carolina Panthers
Although he battled a knee injury all week, Phillip Lindsay played at Kansas City last Sunday night but was held to just 26 yards on 14 rushes, as Melvin Gordon was the more productive RB in the loss. In his last five outings, Lindsay hasn’t found the end zone and failed to eclipse 30 yards in four of those contests. Even though the Panthers are average at stopping the run Lindsay is just an RB3/flex option due to his recent lack of productivity.

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Kansas City Chiefs
Before leaving last week’s loss to the Saints with a knee injury, Phillip Lindsay carried nine times for 20 yards, as the Broncos played without an NFL-caliber QB. Lindsay will likely miss some time. In the Week 7 loss to the Chiefs, he rushed for 79 yards on only nine attempts.

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New Orleans Saints
Even though Melvin Gordon led Denver with 84 yards and two scores on the ground last week versus the Dolphins, Phillip Lindsay ran hard and finished with a team-high 16 carries for 82 yards. Playing with the lead, the Broncos were able to use their two-headed rushing attack, which also helped out Drew Lock and the passing game. Lindsay has only one TD on the season and faces the top defense against the run on Sunday, so he’s just an RB3/flex option.

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Miami Dolphins
In the loss against the Raiders last week, Phillip Lindsay received a season-low four carries for two yards and has only 12 rushes for 25 yards the past two contests. The Broncos have been a first-half mess this season, which has led to them having to nearly abandon the run game and play from behind. Even though he’s been a better player at home just once this season has Lindsay received double-digit attempts (when Gordon was out). Consider him just an RB3/flex option on Sunday.

DEN RB Phillip Lindsay - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Las Vegas Raiders
At Atlanta last week, Phillip Lindsay led the team with eight carries but for just 23 yards. After the Broncos fell behind early the ground game was mostly abandoned, as Drew Lock attempted a career-high 48 passes. Lindsay and Melvin Gordon continue to see a similar amount of touches, which isn’t good news for owners of either. Expect a more balanced offensive approach from the Denver offense on Sunday against an average run defense.
