Scouting report

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Cincinnati Bengals

Patrick Mahomes had a solid game last week, finishing with 320 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also had 36 yards on the ground. This was just Mahomes' second game this season without multiple touchdowns scored, which really speaks to how efficient the Chiefs' QB has been. Even though he only found the end zone once, he was still successful with his sixth straight game of at least 300 passing yards. Mahomes doesn't get a great matchup this week vs. the Bengals (9th aFPA), but he's still a top-tier option at QB. Mahomes should be viewed as a must-start QB in Week 13.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Patrick Mahomes had another ridiculous game last week, throwing for 329 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added 23 yards on the ground. This was Mahomes' sixth game (in 10 starts) with at least three touchdowns and his sixth with 300 passing yards as well. In fact, Mahomes has thrown for at least 300 yards in five straight games, and had 292 in the game before this streak. He's having an unbelievable season, making him a must-start option at QB. He doesn't get a great matchup this week vs. the Rams (7th aFPA), but Mahomes should be viewed as a matchup-proof QB. Start him with confidence.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Los Angeles Chargers

Patrick Mahomes had another elite performance last week, throwing for 331 yards with four touchdowns and 39 rush yards. Mahomes is playing at an MVP level as he leads the NFL in pass yards (326.2 per game) and passing touchdowns (25). He's even been a solid contributor on the ground with a career-high 23.9 rush yards per game. Mahomes doesn't get a great matchup this week against the Chargers (11th aFPA), but they are far from a lockdown defense. Mahomes was fine against L.A. earlier in the year, finishing with 235 yards and two touchdowns. He should be viewed as a must-start top five option at QB in Week 11.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Patrick Mahomes threw all over the Titans' defense last week, finishing with 446 yards, giving him two games in a row with 400 or more passing yards. He also ran for 63 yards, which is a career high for him. He scored twice (one pass, one rush), giving him his seventh multi-touchdown game this year. Mahomes is having yet another incredible season, averaging 325.6 passing yards with 2.7 touchdowns per game. He gets a favorable matchup against the Jaguars in Week 10 and he'll remain a must-start option at quarterback.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tennessee Titans

Patrick Mahomes is fresh off a bye week, but before that he had one of his better games of the season. In Week 7, Mahomes finished with a season-high 423 passing yards along with three touchdowns and an interception. It was Mahomes' fourth game (out of seven) with at least three touchdown passes this season. His high-level of production should continue into Week 9 as he faces a favorable Titans defense. Tennessee has given up 14 touchdown passes this season, which ties for fourth-most in the league. Mahomes is already a must-start QB in fantasy, but he'll be a really good choice this week against the Titans.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at San Francisco 49ers

Patrick Mahomes wasn't quite as dominant against the Bills last week as he was in the playoff game against them, but he still had a solid performance. Mahomes finished with 338 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 21 yards on the ground. This was Mahomes' second 300-yard game of the season, and his fifth multi-touchdown game. It was a good effort in a tough matchup, and we'll see if Mahomes can keep it up this week in another tough matchup against the 49ers. We're willing to bet he does. Mahomes should be viewed as a must-start option at QB in Week 7.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Buffalo Bills

Patrick Mahomes looked great last week as he finished with 292 passing yards with four touchdowns (all to Travis Kelce), no interceptions and 28 rushing yards. Mahomes has had a strong season so far, averaging 279.6 pass yards with at least 230 in every game. He also has a strong 15-2 TD-INT ratio through five games, which of course means he's averaging a ridiculous three scores a game. Mahomes does draw a tough matchup against the Bills this week, but he looked good against Buffalo last year in the postseason by throwing for 378 yards with three touchdowns. It's not an ideal matchup, but Mahomes should still be viewed as a must-start QB1 in Week 6.
