Scouting report

BUF QB Nathan Peterman - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at New York Jets

In his return as the starting quarterback, more of the same for Nathan Peterman. He did throw the ball 49 times (because they were playing from behind). He still only had 188 passing yards and threw three interceptions. He now had one touchdown throw and seven interceptions this season.

Peterman will be the starter against the Jets on Sunday. And we will see more bad quarterback play. Peterman is the lowest rated fantasy quarterback for Week 10 so don't even think of playing him.

BUF QB Nathan Peterman - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Chicago Bears

For some reason, the Bills are going back to Nathan Peterman at quarterback. Yes, Derek Anderson was pretty bad, but Peterman has been awful ever since he stepped on an NFL field. Peterman has played in three games for Buffalo this season and has completed only 40 percent of his passes with one touchdown and three interceptions.

Peterman is facing a Bears defense that is ranked 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. That really doesn't matter. Peterman is the lowest ranked starting quarterback for Week 9.

BUF QB Nathan Peterman - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Baltimore Ravens

Not many people thought Nathan Peterman would be the starting quarterback for the Bills Week 1. The Buffalo staff likes Peterman, which might explain why they stuck with him even after an embarrassing start last season that saw him throw five interceptions—in a half. Yes, he didn't fare as poorly in his only extra start, but the Bills still are big believers.

Peterman will face a Ravens defense that was ranked 10th in the NFL last season. Baltimore's defense is expected to be even better this season which will pose obstacles for the Buffalo offense in Week 1.

In all honesty, Peterman might work out for the Bills as they wait until rookie Josh Allen is definitely ready. For this week, Peterman ranks as the worst fantasy starting quarterback in the league.

BUF QB Nathan Peterman - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Indianapolis Colts

With Tyrod Taylor banged up, Nathan Peterman is likely to get his second start of the season. It can't go any worse than his first start—5 interceptions in one half.

Peterman will face a Colts defense ranked 21st in aFPA to quarterbacks. Even with a favorable matchup, we have to base our rankings on what we saw last time Peterman was behind center. He is ranked dead last in our Week 14 quarterback rankings, so there is no way he should be anywhere near your lineup.

BUF QB Nathan Peterman - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Los Angeles Chargers

It came as a shock to many people when head coach Sean McDermott announced Nathan Peterman would start this week at quarterback against the Chargers. But the Bills feel they need better than average quarterback play that Tyrod Taylor provided so Peterman gets the nod. The fifth-round draft pick had a very good career at the University of Pittsburgh, but wasn't highly regarded by the NFL as evidenced by where he was drafted. He entered last week's game in relief of an ineffective Taylor and threw for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Peterman has a tough matchup this week against the Chargers who are ranked 9th in aFPA to quarterbacks. The good news is even though it is a road game, he won't have to endure a hostile environment because of the LA stadium situation.

This is a wait-and-see play as nobody really knows how the rookie will respond in his first NFL start. Keep him on the bench and the waiver wire for now.
