IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Carolina Panthers

Michael Pittman Jr. only had 40 receiving yards last week, but he caught eight balls and scored a touchdown, so it was a good fantasy day overall for the big former Trojan. Pittman had 13 targets as well in a wild game, his fifth double-digit target game of the season.

Pittman has a tough matchup against a talented Carolina secondary this week. The Panthers rank second in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Temper expectations for the big receiver out of USC, but we still have him ranked as a low-end WR2 option. He gets enough looks each week to warrant fantasy consideration, regardless of matchup.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. New Orleans Saints

Michael Pittman Jr. only caught two balls last week, but luckily one of them was a 75-yard touchdown. He finished with 83 yards and was targeted five times in a close loss to the Browns. Five targets has been the floor for Pittman this year, who’s averaging 9.3 targets per game, giving him fantasy upside in every matchup.

This week, Pittman has a tough matchup against a New Orleans defense that ranks 12th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. It’s a tough game against a talented secondary, so consider him a WR3 option, instead of flirting with WR2 territory like he would be in a better matchup.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Cleveland Browns

Michael Pittman Jr. caught nine of his 14 targets last week for 109 yards. Pittman hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1, but he’s getting a slew of targets, so the numbers should come soon. He has four games with double-digit targets, including in both of Gardner Minshew’s starts.

This week, Pittman has an extremely difficult match against a Cleveland defense that ranks first in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. The Browns held the 49ers in check last week and have a ridiculous amount of talent on the defensive side of the ball, making Pittman a risky option. We have him ranked as a fringe-WR2 option and a solid WR3 or flex. He should still get his targets, but temper expectations in what could be a low-scoring affair.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Michael Pittman Jr. had five catches for 52 yards last week in a Colts victory that was propelled by an effective ground attack. While Pittman hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1, he’s been getting a steady stream of targets, including seven last week. With Gardner Minshew at the helm in Week 3 against Baltimore, Pittman saw 11 balls thrown his way, and Minshew is more accurate than Anthony Richardson at this stage in his development.

This week, Pittman has a nice matchup against a Jacksonville defense that ranks 23rd in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Expect a busy day for Pittman, who scored in the last meeting of these two division rivals. We have him ranked as a low-end WR2 option this week and he should be active in all fantasy leagues.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Tennessee Titans

Michael Pittman Jr. had his first truly bad fantasy game of the season in an overtime loss to the Rams last week, catching just one of his five targets for 15 yards on the day. Pittman preceded that outing with three straight games with at least 11 targets, so fantasy managers should consider Week 4 to be an anomaly.

Pittman should get back on track in a great matchup this week against a Tennessee defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Expect more targets to come Pittman’s way this week and a high floor in PPR formats. Start him as a quality WR2 option in all fantasy leagues.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Michael Pittman Jr. is off to a nice start this season, with 25 catches on 34 targets through three games. He’s also shown a nice rapport with both Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew, providing some added security for fantasy managers concerned about who’s at quarterback in Indianapolis. He was a big part of the Colts’ victory over the Ravens last week, catching nine balls for 77 yards. He has at least eight catches in each game this year.

This week, Pittman has a tough matchup against the Rams, who rank eighth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Pittman should still see plenty of targets, however, and his production so far this season makes him worthy of using as a WR2 option. Start him.

IND WR Michael Pittman Jr. - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Baltimore Ravens

Michael Pittman Jr. is off to a pretty good start this season with 16 catches, 153 yards, and a touchdown through two games. Most notably, he has 23 targets, with double-digits in each game. Fantasy managers who used a mid-round pick on him are happy to see him looking more like his 2021 self than the 2022 version.

The Ravens allowed decent days to Nico Collins in Week 1 and Tee Higgins last week, so there’s upside for Pittman in this matchup. Pittman seemed to hook up well with both Anthony Richardson and with Gardner Minshew the past two weeks, so he seems like a reasonably strong fantasy option moving forward. We have him ranked as a quality WR2 option this week.
