Scouting report

NYG WR Malik Nabers - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Dallas Cowboys

Malik Nabers has been a revelation so far this year. The Giants are prioritizing getting the ball in his hands one way or the other. The rookie has been given 22 opportunities over the past two weeks to go along with his seven Week 1 targets.

He has climbed all the way up to WR7 in our rankings. Nabers is an absolute must-start as long as he's healthy.

NYG WR Malik Nabers - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Cleveland Browns

Malik Nabers had his coming out party in Week 2. He earned 18 targets. That's not a typo. 18.

He scored his first touchdown while tallying 127 yards on 10 receptions in Week 2. Nabers is a top-end WR2 at the moment and it wouldn't be surprising if he climbed from there in the very near future.

NYG WR Malik Nabers - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Washington Commanders

Malik Nabers earned seven targets in the Giants Week 1 loss to the Vikings. He turned those targets into five receptions for 66 yards while failing to find the endzone.

He's obviously talented but the concern coming into the year was whether or not this offense could be functional and so far Daniel Jones hasn't squashed those concerns. Nabers is our WR21 and should be in lineups. Hopefully, for his fantasy managers, better days are ahead.

NYG WR Malik Nabers - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Minnesota Vikings

Malik Nabers is making his NFL debut this weekend in front of his new home crowd. It isn't easy to project a rookie wide receiver in their debut but we have him pegged as a low-end WR2 to kick things off.

He'll be given every opportunity to take the reigns and be a target hog. We've seen top-tier wide receivers make the best of bad quarterback situations, the only question is whether or not Nabers is top-tier.

NYG WR Malik Nabers - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Malik Nabers was the second wide receiver selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Daniel Jones might not be able to do much, but when he falls in love with a receiver he can lock in. We've seen rookie wide receivers come in and make a difference right away. Jones has had multiple receivers with 70+ targets over the past two healthy years. We have Nabers as our WR30 with 90+ receptions.

Fantasy Downside

The downside is being tied to Jones. He hasn't been able to get any of his wide receivers over 100 targets in a season. The offense doesn't look like it's ready to strike fear in their opponents' hearts. If the touchdown opportunities aren't there, it's going to be hard for Nabers to pay off his WR20 price tag.

2024 Bottom Line

Rookie wide receivers are always enticing. At his current price, though, Nabers is a difficult pick. There's already a 10 spot gap between our projections and his ADP and that could grow as the offseason continues. Let someone else take the risk.
