Scouting report

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Seattle

Brown hasn't touched the ball much in the past two months, however, he will get his opportunity with Cam Akers out this week. For only the most desperate fantasy managers, view Brown as a low-end RB3.

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Arizona

Brown had a terrible game last week against San Francisco, as he carried the ball three times for four yards, caught both of his targets for 15 yards, and lost a fumble. He has been passed up by Cam Akers and will soon be fighting with Darrell Henderson for touches behind the rookie. Brown hasn’t been useable much of this season and is at best an RB4 this week.

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs San Francisco

Brown ran the ball three times for 20 yards and caught his only target for eight yards last week against the Buccaneers. With Cam Akers getting more touches every week and Henderson still the starting RB, Brown should not be viewed as anything more than a low-end RB3.

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Tampa Bay

Brown emerged from the muddled Rams backfield last week against Seattle as he ran the ball six times for 33 yards and two touchdowns, and caught two passes for 18 yards. Even though Darrell Henderson started and rookie Cam Akers led the backfield in carries, it was Brown who scored twice and was the most valuable fantasy asset. Against Tampa Bay in Week 11, it will be difficult to trust Brown as anything more than an RB3 especially considering the increase in touches Akers has been getting.

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Seattle

Coming out of the bye week, Brown will be taking consecutive 10-carry games into his Week 10 matchup against Seattle. It’s been difficult to get a beat on Brown’s usage this season, as Darrell Henderson has been the clear RB1 in this offense with Brown’s touches fluctuating on a weekly basis. Taking on a stout Seattle run defense, Brown might be called upon more often than usual as a battering ram on short-yardage downs. Brown is an RB3 in this one.

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Miami

Brown finished his matchup last week against the Bears with 10 carries for 57 yards and one touchdown. Once again working exclusively as Darrell Henderson’s backup, Brown managed to make the most of his opportunities. The good thing about his production lately is that he has been able to fight off rookie Cam Akers from vulturing any snaps. With a soft matchup against the Miami defense, look for Brown to have low-end RB2 production.

LAR RB Malcolm Brown - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Chicago

Brown once again took a backseat to Darrell Henderson as he finished Week 6 with two carries for four yards and caught three passes for 18 yards. Brown has increasingly become a non-factor in this Rams offense and has not been fantasy relevant since Week 1. A clear handcuff at this point, we would not recommend starting Brown since he is at best an RB3 this week.
