LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Atlanta Falcons

Once again, Ladd McConkey led the Chargers in receiving yards, but Josh Palmer led the team in targets. It was quite a shock how the Chargers went away from McConkey and Will Dissly until it was too late. Still, McConkey feels like the alpha in this offense and getting some extra looks in the red zone would go a long way to helping his fantasy value.

The Falcons are 32nd aFPA against wide receivers this season and are a dream matchup for McConkey and Justin Herbert. McConkey checks in as a mid-end WR2 this week and is a must-start this week.

LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

With the Chargers reverting back to a run-heavier approach, it was tough sledding for Ladd McConkey and the Chargers passing attack in fantasy. McConkey led the Chargers with 52 receiving yards but only had 2 catches on 2 targets. A lot of McConkey's value came from being the top option in the passing attack, even when it was low-volume. Unfortunately, last week he was not the top option. Obviously, that can happen week-to-week, but we need him as the top target earner in Los Angeles.

The Bengals are 27th aFPA against wide receivers so, in theory, this is a great spot for McConkey. Volume is the concern, but this is a fantastic spot for the Chargers passing game and Justin Herbert has been fantastic. I would roll the dice with McConkey as a WR3/flex option this week.

LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Tennessee Titans

While the Chargers are spreading things around in the passing game, Ladd McConkey continues to lead the team in targets every week. McConkey isn't seeing high aDOT targets, but with another 7 targets last week he continues to have the safest floor of any of the Chargers receivers on a given week.

The Titans are 3rd aFPA against receivers so far this year, so it is a bit of a tougher matchup, but McConkey has been so reliable it's hard to get away from him, especially in PPR formats. He's a WR2 this week and should remain in your lineup.

LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Cleveland Browns

It was another strong performance for Ladd McConkey, as he beat up a battered Saints secondary for 6 catches for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns on 6 targets. It was a super efficient day for McConkey but it shows the ceiling McConkey has with Justin Herbert when the passing game is allowed to get going.

Another beatable matchup is on tap as the Browns are 27th aFPA against wide receivers. McConkey is rolling right now and as long Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman let Justin Herbert throw the ball this much McConkey has a high-end WR2 ceiling. He's a back-end WR2 this week, but should be in your lineups.

LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs New Orleans Saints

It was a bit of a disappointing week for the Chargers offense as they couldn't get in the end zone, but Justin Herbert did set a season-high in passing yards and Ladd McConkey still saw 7 targets. While McConkey wasn't able to find the end zone, in PPR leagues he had a usable score last week.

The Saints are 14th aFPA against wide receivers so it's a middling matchup at best, but like every week, McConkey should lead the receivers in targets and in PPR leagues can scam his way there every week even if he doesn't find the end zone. He's a middle of the pack WR3 this week and should find his way in your lineup.

LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Arizona Cardinals

Even in the most pass-happy of weeks from the Chargers, it was tough for Ladd McConkey to be anything more than a WR3/Flex option. He finished with 4 receptions for 43 yards. It's not bad, but it's also not what you were hoping for when you drafted him. He was limited in practice on Thursday, so it's important to keep an eye on his status throughout the weekend.

McConkey and the Chargers passing game have a solid matchup against the Cardinals (17th aFPA against wide receivers) and with a close spread and decent total for a Chargers game, it's not the worst place to start McConkey. He's a back-end WR3 this week, but the matchup is worth pursuing.

LAC WR Ladd McConkey - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Denver Broncos

We always look for a post-bye rookie bump, but I don't think this is the week it is coming for Ladd McConkey. Denver is 1st aFPA against wide receivers this season and even with Justin Herbert off the injury report, I'm not sure this is the spot to attack against the Broncos.

If you're considering using McConkey, it's best for a PPR format. He might be able to scam his way to a decent day, but it won't be efficient. McConkey is a back-end WR3 this week in a tough matchup and can be considered if you have no one better, but expectations should be lowered in a tough matchup.
